With over 19 thousand job vacancies filled, Pará leads formal job creation in the Northern Region
The state had a positive balance of over 5 thousand job positions and accounts for 35% of the vacancies created in the North in the first five months of 2025

The formal job market in Pará showed a positive balance again in May 2025, according to data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged), released by Dieese-PA. In the month, the state recorded 44,981 admissions and 39,923 dismissals, generating a balance of 5,058 formal job vacancies.
The result positions Pará as the leader in job creation in the Northern Region and 10th in the national ranking, ahead of states like Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, and the Federal District. The balance for May is 45% higher than that recorded in the same period of 2024.
Regional Highlight - The Northern Region also showed growth in the generation of formal jobs. In May, there were 112,270 hires and 101,434 dismissals, with a balance of 10,836 new positions — almost half of this total was generated by Pará.
According to data from Dieese-PA and the Secretariat of Social Assistance, Labor, Employment, and Income (Seaster), all states in the region showed growth in the month, but Pará stood out, accounting for approximately 47% of the regional positive balance.

Sectors that hired the most - Among the sectors that contributed the most to job generation in Pará in May, the highlight was the services sector, with 2,848 vacancies created, followed by construction (+2,010), industry (+783), and commerce (+447).
Agriculture was the only sector with negative performance, with 1,031 fewer vacancies in the month.
In the accumulated period from January to May 2025, Pará maintains a positive trend, again highlighting services (+11,162 vacancies), commerce (+4,612), industry (+3,485), and construction (+2,414).

More jobs and income - The Secretary of Social Assistance, Labor, Employment, and Income, Inocêncio Gasparim, reinforced the government's commitment to generating opportunities.
“We continuously work to ensure more access to the job market, investing in professional training and establishing partnerships with companies to boost employment and income throughout the state,” he highlighted.

Regional growth - In the accumulated period from January to May 2025, the Northern Region recorded 558,206 admissions and 503,405 dismissals, with a positive balance of 54,801 vacancies. Pará was responsible for more than 35% of all positions created during this period, consolidating itself as a driver of employability in the North of the country.
