July is approaching and, with it, the intensification of actions from the Summer Operation 2025, coordinated by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), which enhances prevention at beaches and resorts in Pará. In Salinópolis, the main tourist destination during this period, the focus is on reducing accidents, saving lives, and guiding bathers to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors.

The Military Fire Brigade of Pará (CBMPA) operates with more than 70 military personnel, 15 vehicles, ATVs, boats, and pickups distributed at fixed posts on Atalaia and Farol Velho beaches, in addition to standby teams at the local Group.

According to the commander of the 13th Military Fire Group (GBM), Major Rodrigo Martins do Vale, activities occur daily due to the increase in tourist flow driven by new developments, such as resorts and inns. “We have teams with firefighting vehicles, rescue, diving, and logistical support. The operation also extends to the highways, ensuring safety during travel to the municipality,” he stated.

Preventive actions and rescues

The presence of firefighters on the beaches helps prevent drownings and accidents caused by marine animals or submerged objects. In addition to rescue and first aid, the military carry out educational actions with bathers, advising them about risk areas and the dangers of consuming alcohol before swimming.

The CBMPA works in partnership with the Air Public Security Group (Graesp) for sea rescues. In these cases, an aerial scoop, a rescue basket operated by helicopter, is used, allowing for quick and safe actions to remove victims from the water.

Integrated operation

The Summer Operation mobilizes more than 9,000 security agents, including firefighters, military police, civil police, penal and scientific agents, as well as agents from the Detran, the State Secretary of Public Health (Sespa), and municipal agencies.
