On the first weekend of the Summer Operation, Detran guides traffic on the Salinas road
Education and enforcement agents conduct approaches to guide summer visitors

The first weekend of the 'Summer Operation 2025' was considered calm in Salinópolis, one of the most sought-after destinations in northeastern Pará during the month of July. The PA-124, the main access road to the municipality, recorded little movement this Saturday (28).
To guide summer visitors, the State Department of Transit (Detran) carried out educational and enforcement actions focused on road safety. The approaches highlighted the main risk factors in traffic, such as not wearing a helmet, speeding, overtaking in prohibited areas, and especially the combination of alcohol and driving.

“In addition to the most common infractions, we provided guidance on high tide times to avoid issues when leaving the beaches, and we emphasized the importance of having a designated driver. We also warned about the safe transport of children, animals, and objects,” explained Carlos Magno, a public servant in the traffic education area of Detran.

The educational actions are preventive and occur upon arrival in the municipality. According to Detran, the strategy aims to reinforce driver awareness and remind that enforcement is usually intensified during the summer period.
Arícia Souza, a public servant from Capanema, was in Salinas with her family to celebrate her mother's birthday. During the approach, she praised the action. “We received guidance on traffic safety and even got a trash bag to help preserve the beach. It is important to remember that no one should drive under the influence of alcohol, especially in July when traffic increases,” she stated.

Alongside the educational actions, Detran's enforcement agents are involved in approaching vehicles arriving in the city. The priority is to curb infractions such as driving under the influence of alcohol, expired licensing, and drivers without a license or with an expired driver's license.
During the launch of the Summer Operation at the Command Center of the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), the security forces integrated the planning of the actions. Detran, in addition to the Dry Law, reinforces its efforts to combat noise pollution and protect the turtle nesting area at Ponta da Sofia, on Atalaia beach — where vehicle entry is prohibited.
