The Government of Pará, through the Housing Company of Pará (Cohab), delivered, this Friday (27), the second phase of the housing benefit Sua Casa for the completion of homes for 241 families in Santarém, in the Lower Amazon Integration region.

The delivery of the Sua Casa program benefit took place during Governor Helder Barbalho's work agenda in the region, which included the resumption of works on the Municipal Maternal and Child Hospital, among other works and services delivered to the municipality's population.

“We are honoring a central commitment of what the population of Santarém expects, which is the completion of the Maternal and Child Hospital. The population of Santarém cries out for health assistance, particularly, the attention and sensitivity to ensure a quality hospital here so that mothers can have their babies here, and we are also delivering housing benefits so that families now have the opportunity to complete their homes and live better,” emphasized the governor.

With this latest delivery in Santarém, the Sua Casa program has benefited over 2,700 families in the last six years with a program that provides financial resources for the construction, renovation, or expansion of their own homes at no cost. “It is the Government of Pará, through Cohab, ensuring that families have access to dignified housing and a better quality of life to live better,” highlighted the president of Cohab, Manoel Pioneiro, who was in Santarém during the work agenda in the municipality.

The Sua Casa program was created by Governor Helder Barbalho through decree 8,967, dated December 30, 2019. The objective is to improve the quality of life of the population. Cohab coordinates the selection of beneficiaries, monitors the construction, and oversees the execution of the program's expenses.

The Sua Casa Program consists of granting two benefits: assistance for the acquisition of materials to be used in the construction, renovation, expansion, improvement, or adaptation of the housing unit, and help for hiring the labor of the mason who performs the service. The amount can reach up to R$ 21,000.

Housewife Nice Góes details that the completion of her house will take her entire family out of rent. “It is a security for us to know that we will be completing our house and be able to live there with more comfort,” emphasized the housewife.
