State schools celebrate achievements with the Pará School Money Program, Prodep
In Belém, units carry out structural works, building maintenance, and invest in improving the air conditioning of environments, among other actions

Education is transformed within the classroom, and also through investments that directly reflect on the quality of the school environment. In Belém, the State Schools Bira Barbosa, Rosa Gattorno, XV de Outubro, Mateus do Carmo, and Domingos Acatauassu Nunes celebrate important achievements made possible by the resources of the Pará School Money Program (Prodep), from the State Department of Education (Seduc), which has already transferred over R$ 50 million this year.
With the support of Prodep, these units executed structural works, building maintenance, and invested in air conditioning for the environments. Such improvements positively impact the well-being of students, teachers, and other professionals, strengthening the teaching-learning process.

At the State School Bira Barbosa, located at Travessa Vinte de Fevereiro, No. 88, in the Guamá neighborhood, building, hydrosanitary, and electrical maintenance were carried out, in addition to air conditioning the teachers' and administration rooms. One of the highlights was the construction of a vertical garden, an action required to allocate at least 5% of the received resources to Environmental Education initiatives. In 2024, the school received R$ 34,695.86, and has already received the first installment for 2025, amounting to R$ 13,698.88.
"The State School Bira Barbosa, previously affected by the accumulation of debris, underwent a process of awareness with students and the community, resulting in the cleaning and preservation of the space. As a symbol of this transformation, a vertical garden was created with an artistic panel, which is now collectively cared for. The initiative was well received, valued the school environment, and helped prevent problems such as the proliferation of insects and diseases," reported Odileila Silva, the unit's director.
At the State School Rosa Gattorno, located at Rua Augusto Corrêa, No. 876, in Guamá, improvements included structural works, modernization of the electrical panel, air conditioning, and the implementation of a rainwater reuse system, promoting sustainable practices. The total transfer in 2024 was R$ 90,473.07, while for this year, the school has already received R$ 53,432.20.

"With the resources, our school improved its electrical infrastructure, replacing the old power panel that caused frequent outages and disrupted classes. This allowed us to air condition five classrooms, providing more comfort and better learning conditions. We renovated the coordination room and created a space for teachers to conduct studies and meetings. We also installed a cistern to reuse rainwater for cleaning the school, encouraging environmental awareness. Prodep has been essential in strengthening public education in Pará," says Selma Chaves, director of Rosa Gattorno.
The State School XV de Outubro, located on Avenida José Bonifácio, in Guamá, was granted air conditioning for five classrooms, adjustments to the electrical network, structural repairs, and the construction of a suspended garden, reinforcing environmental education actions. The total received in 2024 and 2025 was R$ 163,634.15.
"We are very happy with the Prodep program, which benefited our school, air-conditioned, painted, and greatly improved student learning. Long live Prodep!" celebrates Alana Vitória, a 5th-grade student at the XV de Outubro School.
At the Mateus do Carmo School, located at Passagem São João, No. 128, in Terra Firme, the investment allowed for air conditioning of the classrooms, modernization of the main electrical system, and the implementation of a school garden, encouraging healthy habits and environmental awareness. The amount transferred in 2024 was R$ 99,486.65 and in 2025 was R$ 48,199.52.
Finally, the State School Domingos Acatauassu Nunes, located at Travessa Mauriti, No. 174, near the Canal da União, in Marco, received improvements in various sectors, including hydrosanitary interventions, adjustments to the electrical network, and air conditioning for four classrooms. The school also gained a vertical garden, promoting integration with nature and enhancing the quality of the school environment. The amount allocated in 2024 was R$ 77,711.25, while in 2025 the school received R$ 47,249.96.

These actions demonstrate the state's commitment to investing in safer, more welcoming, and sustainable school environments, which are essential for the development of quality public education. The school units that are part of the Regional Education Directorate - Belém 05, symbolically placed a plaque representing the achievement.
School autonomy with a transfer of R$ 50 million
The Government of Pará, through Seduc, reinforced its commitment to valuing public education by transferring around R$ 50 million directly to 693 schools in the state network, as part of the Pará School Money Program (Prodep). The amount refers to the first installment of 2025 and will be used in a decentralized manner by the school units.
The Prodep proposal is to strengthen school management, allowing each school to decide, with autonomy, where to apply the resources according to their priorities. Investment possibilities include improvements in infrastructure, acquisition of pedagogical and technological materials, air conditioning of environments, sustainable practices, and even reinforcement in school meals.
Since its launch in 2023, the program has already allocated R$ 187 million directly to state schools, promoting significant transformations in the daily life of educational units and contributing to a more welcoming and efficient environment for students and education professionals.
