The Government of Pará delivered more than 1,200 prescription glasses to the population of the municipality of Ananindeua, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, on the morning of this Tuesday (24). The deliveries took place in the São Raimundo Nonato community, in the Águas Lindas neighborhood, benefiting people served during the "Por Todas Elas" program action, which took place at Campo Diamante on April 23 and 24.

Among the beneficiaries is housewife Vera Corrêa, 65, a resident of the Águas Lindas neighborhood. "I needed to change my glasses for a long time; the old ones were no longer working. I had difficulty even reading, but now with the new glasses, everything will improve. It's a blessing; it feels like I gained a new vision," she said.

For Ana Claudia Xisto, a resident of the Águas Lindas neighborhood, the delivery of the new glasses represents an achievement. "It really is an achievement because we know how difficult it is to take care of eye health when you don't have the resources for it. A pair of glasses can cost almost two thousand reais, but here in the action, it's free, and it's very important for low-income people who need this service. With these glasses, I will be able to work better and have a better quality of life in my daily life," she said.

According to Elieth Braga, Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, the provision of glasses represents "an important step to ensure more quality of life for the population, preventing vision-related problems and reinforcing the Government's commitment to basic health."

Por Todas Elas - The initiative integrates a series of services in the areas of health, citizenship, education, and social assistance, with a primary focus on valuing and serving women. During the action held in April, residents underwent eye exams and, after identifying the need, had free access to prescription glasses.

Service: People who could not participate in the delivery this Tuesday (24) can go to UsiPaz Prof. Amintas Pinheiro - at Estrada do Icuí-Guajará, corner with Avenida Independência - to collect the glasses, upon presentation of an official photo identification document.
