State tax auditors working in the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Araguaia, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), in southern Pará, seized a brand new van, two backhoe loaders, and tires on Friday (20).

At the Araguaia tax unit, located on Highway PA-447, KM-15, the driver of the van, originating from Lauro de Freitas (BA) and destined for Tucumã (PA), presented a tax document intended for a non-contributing legal entity, without the collection of the Differential Rate of ICMS (Difal) to the State of Pará. The vehicle is valued at R$ 298,000.00. A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued, amounting to R$ 98,861.72.

Seized backhoe loader

Transit violation – At the tax post in Vila Bela Vista, on the banks of the Araguaia River, two new backhoe loaders were seized, which left Cariacica (ES) destined for Viana (ES). The total value of the load is R$ 288,770.00.

“The invoice presented only informed one unit of vehicle. The inspection requested the document intended for the State of Pará for the two machines, and it was reported that there was no tax document destined for Pará nor a service provision contract,” informed the coordinator of the tax unit, Renato Couto.

A transit violation was characterized when the invoice indicates one destination and the goods go to another place. A TAD was issued, amounting to R$ 98,759.34, for goods not accompanied by a tax document.

Tires – At the tax post of Barreira do Campo, on Highway PA-441, KM-38, in the municipality of Santana do Araguaia, the driver of a truck presented invoices for tires originating from Itajaí (SC), with various recipients in Pará. A total of 511 tires of various sizes were seized, with a total value of R$ 399,683.64.

Wooden portals of sucupira and muiracatiara

“During the inspection process, it was found that the invoices presented had the ICMS Tax Substitution (ST) highlighted. However, the company did not have a State Registration (IE) for Tax Substitution in the State of Pará, nor did it make the advance payment of the tax, as required by law. Five Seizure and Deposit Terms (TADs) were issued, totaling R$ 137,099.68, for the failure to make the advance payment of the tax due for tax substitution,” said coordinator Renato Couto.

Incorrect values - In the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, in Cachoeira do Piriá, a municipality in northeastern Pará, 2,027 sets of wooden portals were also seized on Friday (20).

“The trailer entered the inspection yard, made a quick stop, and began to move slowly, trying to evade the tax post. The inspection noticed and called the Sefa vehicle, which, along with the Military Police, pursued the vehicle, intercepting it in the neighboring city of Maranhão, making the vehicle return to the inspection yard,” reported coordinator Gustavo Bozola.

During the inspection of the load, it was verified that there were 2,027 sets, equivalent to 40 cubic meters of portals of the species sucupira and muiracatiara, originating from Moju (PA) and destined for Feira de Santana (BA), according to the forest guide. “However, the value was well below the values reported in the Sefa Minimum Price Bulletin. The value of the invoice was R$ 14,243.20, which resulted in a much lower tax amount to be collected by the State,” explained the coordinator.

The value of the goods was adjusted according to the values in the Price Bulletin, to the amount of R$ 135,691.74, and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued, totaling R$ 26,231.92, referring to the tax and the fine.
