Sefa seizes one ton of recyclable bags and nearly 400 tires
Seizures occurred in Cachoeira do Piriá and Dom Eliseu, on Wednesday and this Thursday

At the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of the State Department of Finance (Sefa) of Gurupi, located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, bordering Maranhão, state tax inspectors seized, on the 18th, one ton of recyclable bags, in 100 bales, hidden among a load of iron.
“A tarpaulin-covered bulk carrier vehicle presented transport invoices for iron originating from Recife -PE and destined for Ananindeua. The driver was asked to pull over the vehicle for a physical inspection of the load. When the tarpaulin was removed, it was noticed that the driver was directing the inspection to the back of the vehicle, which raised suspicion from the inspection team. The tarpaulin was then opened at the front, and the goods without an invoice were found. There were 100 bales of recyclable bags of various sizes with the recipients' logos,” said the coordinator of the tax unit, Gustavo Bozola.
The load was valued, based on similar items in the national market, as determined by law, at a total of R$ 21,579.20, and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued for a total of R$ 7,380.09, which was paid and the load released.
Tires – Still in the northeastern part of the State, at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Itinga, in Dom Eliseu, 390 tires were seized this Thursday (19), valued at R$ 545,699.99, originating from Itajaí-SC and destined for Castanhal.
“The sending company failed to collect the ICMS due to the State of Pará. Due to the non-collection of the tax, a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued for the amount of R$ 128,120.87, referring to the ICMS and fine,” reported coordinator Rafael Brasil.
