Paragominas wins the Efficiency Trophy at the Regional Rio Capim of the XIV Joapa

With the conquest of the Efficiency Trophy, the most coveted in the competition, the delegation from Paragominas was the highlight at the Regional Rio Capim of the 14th edition of the largest amateur sports event in the State, the Jogos Abertos do Pará (Joapa), held in Mãe do Rio. The athletes from Paragominas won in basketball, beach soccer, handball, volleyball, and table tennis, totaling the highest score of the event: 53 points. In second place was the delegation from Mãe do Rio, with 42 points, and in third place was Tomé-Açu, with 41 points.

The Efficiency Trophy rewards the delegation that accumulates the most points in the competition. The event brought together about 900 athletes from 10 municipalities in six modalities, from June 12 to 15. The Joapa, which encompasses all 144 municipalities, is promoted by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel).

The programming took place at the George Alan Gymnasium, at the Rui Barbosa Educational Center (Cerb), Dr. Silas Freitas Municipal Gymnasium, José Vinícius Albuquerque Arena – Gym Square, Pe. Lourenço Scotti Municipal School Gymnasium, and Padre Marino Contti State School, which hosted the table tennis competition.

Integration - The head of Seel, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the success of the competition in Mãe do Rio. “It is wonderful to see how sports have the power to unite communities and promote integration among different municipalities. A competition with the participation of 900 athletes is a true testament to the dedication of everyone involved, from us at Seel as organizers to the competitors. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this third phase! As we approach the fourth phase, it is important to maintain this spirit of joy, showing that sports is a powerful tool for social promotion and personal development. May the next stage be filled with great moments and achievements for all participants,” emphasized the Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure.

The municipalities that participated in the Regional Rio Capim were: Aurora do Pará, Bujaru, Capitão Poço, Concórdia do Pará, Ipixuna do Pará, Irituia, Mãe do Rio, Paragominas, São Miguel do Guamá, and Tomé-Açu, which competed in six modalities: basketball, futsal, beach soccer, volleyball, handball, and table tennis.
