With over 22,000 people already certified, the program reaches its tenth phase with 180 in-person spots in Belém and more than 150,000 online opportunities for the entire state of Pará
The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Science, Technology, Higher Education, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet), announces the tenth phase of the professional training program "Capacita COP30". In this phase, 180 in-person spots are offered to form six classes in the Belém hub and 155,000 spots for the formation of 31 classes in the Distance Learning (EaD) modality, in partnership with the Social Transport Service and the National Learning Service for Transport (Sest/Senat). Registrations are open and classes are scheduled to start on June 23, next Monday.
In just one year, the State Government has already reached the mark of 22,000 certifications through Capacita COP30. The initiative offers free qualification and professional training courses in the areas of tourism, gastronomy, infrastructure, and security, aiming to prepare the local workforce for the job market and expand the opportunities generated by the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will take place in Belém in November.
The in-person classes will be held at the Paes de Carvalho State School in Belém, with classes in the following formations: Tourist Service and Good Practices in Reception; Basic English for Tourism Business; Basic Housekeeping Course; Marketing and Communication for Event Coverage and Promotion; Strategies for Your Business at COP30; and Hospitality and Accommodation. In the distance courses, 31 options are available in the areas of infrastructure and workplace safety.
The head of Sectet, Victor Dias, emphasizes the importance of the new course offerings for the people of Pará. "COP30 will be a milestone for our state, not only as an event but as a legacy of transformation and opportunities. Therefore, we are expanding the course offerings through the Capacita COP30 Program, ensuring that more people from Pará are prepared for this historic moment. Training our population is investing in inclusion, employability, and building a fairer and more sustainable future for all," said the secretary.
