The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa), through the Regional Blood Center of Castanhal (HRCAS), held a morning of training and formation of multipliers for 38 community health agents (ACS) from the Jardelândia neighborhood, the most populous in the municipality. The activity, held this week, is part of the Hemotur project and is the result of a partnership between the Social Service of HRCAS and the Municipal Health Department of Castanhal. The goal is to strengthen the culture of voluntary blood donation and expand the reach of awareness campaigns in the municipality.

During the event, participants were welcomed by social worker Anaidis Tavares, who conducted the reception and a guided tour of the blood center's facilities, presenting all stages of donor care. Then, social worker Herlan Smith gave a lecture titled "The Blood Cycle: from collection to voluntary donation and bone marrow registration at Hemopa," clarifying doubts about the donation process and highlighting the importance of this altruistic gesture.

The proposal is to hold monthly meetings to reach all community health agents in Castanhal. The Jardelândia neighborhood was the first to receive the training, and the goal is to gradually advance until the entire professional category in the municipality is reached.

For social worker Herlan Smith, training multipliers is one of the main strategies of the donor recruitment sector. "We want to prepare these professionals to act as facilitators of information. They directly accompany families in the communities and, with this knowledge, will disseminate the importance of voluntary donation, strengthening a continuous and positive culture around this altruistic gesture," he explained.

The manager of the Regional Blood Center of Castanhal, Daniel Farias, emphasized the importance of the action for the blood supply in the unit and the increased visibility of the work developed by Hemopa. "These primary care professionals come to understand the strategic role of the Foundation and the collective responsibility we have in maintaining the stocks. Many were not yet familiar with the operation of the blood center, and this practical experience generates engagement," Daniel highlighted.

He also emphasized that ACS play a fundamental role, especially in the peripheral areas of Castanhal. "Now, they can guide the population on bone marrow registration and the importance of regular blood donation, further connecting the hemotherapy network with primary health care," he added.

Service - The initiative is part of Hemopa's ongoing actions to promote health education and bring the population closer to hemotherapy services. The goal is to encourage blood donation as an altruistic gesture, essential for maintaining stocks and ensuring transfusion care throughout the state.
