To strengthen crime prevention and ensure a safer summer season, teams from the Public Security and Social Prevention Policy Directorate (DPS), linked to the Pará State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), began this Tuesday (17) preventive training aimed at owners and employees of bars, restaurants, and hotels in Barcarena and the Mosqueiro district in Belém.

The initiative is part of the "Summer Prevention" project, which precedes the Summer Operation 2025, and aims to prepare those who directly serve the public to identify risk situations and collaborate in the prevention and reporting of crimes, especially in places with a high flow of people.

According to Colonel Sérgio Neves, acting Secretary of Public Security, the training is part of a joint effort to strengthen the fight against illicit activities and protect vulnerable groups. "We are working proactively, alongside strategic sectors that receive a high flow of people. In addition to crimes, we also address compliance with laws such as the prohibition of the use of cerol and glass bottles on beaches and the control of noise pollution," he explained.

In addition to the DPS teams, agents from the Civil Police and the Military Police of Pará participated in the training. Among the topics discussed were combating violence against women, child sexual exploitation, and disturbances of peace, as well as the dissemination of official reporting channels.

In this first phase, 104 professionals were trained. The next actions will take place in Ajuruteua and Salinópolis, in northeastern Pará, expanding the preparation for the high season in the state.

For Corporal Tadeu, from the Independent Special Police Assistance Company (Ciepas), anticipating the training is essential. "The flow of people increases significantly, and we need to be prepared along with those who will serve these summer visitors, preventing accidents and common occurrences during this period, such as the use of prohibited items," the officer emphasized.

Participants in the training also positively evaluated the initiative. Davi Thiago, from the hotel network in Barcarena, highlighted the importance of knowledge to avoid risk situations: "It is very good to learn how to prevent and take care of people, avoiding serious problems, even the risk of death."

For Luzia Mangiarini, the training also helps raise awareness in the internal work environment. "Receiving this guidance is essential to prevent harassment both with children and adolescents and among colleagues," she stated.

The Summer Operation 2025 will feature the integrated action of security forces to ensure a safer and more peaceful vacation period for residents and visitors.

Service: The training sessions will continue next week in the municipalities of Salinópolis and in the Village of Ajuruteua, in Bragança, targeting all professionals working in the hotel network, beach stalls, commercial establishments, and tourism companies.

Salinópolis: 06/23 at 4 PM at Hotel Solar;

Ajuruteua: 06/24 at 5 PM at Kiosk 16, on the Ajuruteua waterfront.
