Corpus Christi holiday will have a reinforcement of 264 traffic enforcement agents from Detran
State highways in 29 municipalities will be monitored by the agency until next Monday, the 23rd

The extended Corpus Christi holiday is expected to move thousands of vehicles towards the interior of Pará and main resorts. To ensure safety and organization in traffic, the State Department of Transit (Detran) has set up a special operation with a reinforcement of agents in 29 municipalities.
A total of 264 enforcement agents will operate starting this Thursday (19), with preventive, educational, and punitive actions. The main focus will be to combat serious infractions, such as driving under the influence, speeding, illegal overtaking, vehicles with irregular documentation, unlicensed drivers, and stolen or robbed vehicles.
In addition to ensuring road safety, the operation will also work to maintain traffic flow. The agents will be prepared to act in cases of minor collisions and situations that may obstruct the roads, avoiding long traffic jams. Traffic light monitoring and any demonstrations that may hinder traffic will also be monitored.
The inspections will be concentrated mainly on the highways leading to the most sought-after resorts, such as:
- PA-124 and PA-444 (Salinópolis);
- PA-391 (access to Mosqueiro);
- PA-483 (Viaduct);
- BR-316 (from km 0 to 18).

These sections will have 24-hour enforcement. In Salinópolis, the actions will take into account the flow of vehicles according to the tide schedule. Fixed and mobile barriers will use breathalyzers and speed radars, in addition to OCR radars (Optical Character Recognition), which identify license plates and check the status of vehicles in real-time.
The operation occurs in an integrated manner with other public security agencies. According to Detran's operations coordinator, Ivan Feitosa, reinforcement from the Civil Police has been requested in strategic precincts such as Salinópolis, Mosqueiro/Santa Bárbara, and Barcarena, to facilitate the apprehension of drivers caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Corpus Christi Operation will continue until next Monday (23).
