State tax inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) seized, on Sunday (15), 46 tons of soy, merchandise valued at R$ 100,165.00, originating from Santa Maria das Barreiras, Pará, and destined for Porto Franco, Maranhão. The officials are assigned to the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Itinga, in the municipality of Dom Eliseu, northeastern Pará.

“The merchandise was covered by a shipping invoice with a specific purpose of export. However, it was found, in the analysis conducted by the inspection team, that the sender does not have a Special Tax Regime authorized by Sefa. According to current legislation, this condition is essential for the operation to benefit from the non-incidence of ICMS,” informed the coordinator of the tax unit, Rafael Brasil.

The merchandise was retained and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, in the amount of R$ 19,231.68, referring to ICMS and fines.
