In just over two months of operation, the Polyclinic Carajás Miguel Chamon, in Marabá, surpassed, on this Monday (16), the mark of more than 12,000 consultations performed. The unit has stood out in offering specialized services to the population of southeastern Pará.

Since the beginning of activities on April 7, more than 3,300 consultations have been conducted in various medical specialties, such as orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, among others. During the same period, over 9,300 exams were recorded, including functional, laboratory, and imaging tests, with a focus on ultrasound and tomography.

The head of the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa), Ivete Gadelha Vaz, emphasizes that the Polyclinic represents an advancement in the regionalization of public health, expanding the population's access to specialized care. “The Polyclinic is the result of the Government's commitment to decentralizing health services, ensuring dignity and care for the population of southeastern Pará,” said the secretary.

Approval

The impressive numbers of consultations at the Polyclinic are accompanied by positive reports from users. They highlight the welcoming atmosphere and organization of the services. One example is Maria Socorro, 67 years old, a resident of Marabá, in the Carajás region.

“I was well received by all the professionals; they treated me with attention and care from the reception to the exam. I was able to have the tomography done without waiting too long, and that made all the difference. The Polyclinic arrived at the right time, making our lives easier, especially for those who, like me, depend on public health,” said the patient.

Young Lucas Andrade, 24 years old, a resident of Itupiranga, in the Tucuruí Lake region, who was treated at the institution, also highlighted the speed and structure of the unit. “I was surprised by the quick service. In just a few days, I was able to have the consultation and left with the medical prescription for new glasses. It is gratifying to see a public service functioning with quality and respect for people,” said the patient.

Services offered

Under the management of the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), the Polyclinic offers a range of services that ensure the population access to diagnoses and specialized treatments.

The executive director of the Polyclinic, Joabe Lopes, emphasizes that, even with the promising start, the team remains committed to constantly improving services. “Our focus is to gradually expand the available specialties, ensuring that each consultation is conducted with excellence and humanity,” emphasized the professional.

The unit offers a wide variety of medical specialties, with a focus on Allergy (adult and pediatric), Anesthesiology, Cardiology (general, pediatric, and rapid pre-operative), Dermatology, Endocrinology (general and pediatric), Gastroenterology and Proctology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Hematology (general and pediatric),

The unit also offers exams in the areas of clinical analysis and imaging diagnosis, such as computed tomography, ultrasound, endoscopy, colonoscopy, among others. The unit will also perform low-complexity surgical procedures, providing efficient care.

To access the services, citizens must seek a Basic Health Unit (UBS), obtain a referral, and present it at the Municipal Health Department of their city, which will register and schedule with the Polyclinic.
