In Belém, during the two days of the event at Hangar, 7,000 people attended the event and 1,000 açaí processors were trained
The second and final day of the Açaí Pará Festival at the Hangar Convention Center in Belém attracted a large audience, highlighting the productive chain of the fruit that is genuinely from Pará. About 7,000 visitors attended the festival between Friday (13) and this Saturday (14), with a focus on training approximately 1,000 açaí processors.
From the entrance to near the main stage, açaí was presented in various forms. In the decorations of the booths and corridors, in some participants' clothing, and even through music, with singer Pinduca, who closed the program in style.
The "king of Carimbó" celebrated the fruit with one of his most famous songs: "Who goes to Pará, stopped, had açaí, stayed." For the artist, the state government, through the Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fishing (Sedap), deserves congratulations for the third edition.
He, who has participated in all of them, said he feels honored to be part of a program that has açaí as the protagonist. Born in the municipality of Igarapé-Miri (the largest producer of the fruit), Pinduca says that the fruit deserves to be honored and valued always, after all, it is part of the daily life of those who live in Pará.
"Açaí is the main food of the people of Pará. It has already conquered the world. That’s why I always sing: who goes to Pará, stopped. And if they had açaí, they won’t leave anymore. I thank Didi from Ver-o-Peso. It’s great to have been invited," said Pinduca.
Passion- Among those who do not give up açaí is André Alves. Born in Patos, Paraíba, the businessman has visited all editions of the festival. He enjoyed and tasted the different products made with açaí. Together with his family, he tried the açaí-based products offered at the festival.
"Everything that has açaí I like. But, without a doubt, açaí as we consume it, with water flour or tapioca, is the best. The açaí that comes from our land, or rather, from our floodplain, is the best in the world," celebrated the visitor.
This Saturday, there were also cooking shows with recipe sharing by chef Eliane from Box 49 of Ver-o-Peso and lectures on selective collection, geographical indication and collective brands, açaí handling, and solar energy.
During the festival, the public was shown the prototype of the equipment for harvesting and transporting the fruit developed by Kaa Açaí, located in the industrial district of Icoaraci. The director of fairs and markets at Sedap, Manoel Rendeiro, made the closing speech. On behalf of Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan and Secretary Gioivanni Queiroz, head of Sedap, he thanked all participants, especially the representatives of the present municipalities. "There were 200 booths, 1,000 trained processors, and 7,000 registered visitors," emphasized Rendeiro.
