With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) held, this Saturday (14), the first edition of the Caixa Lottery Paralympic Festival, in the modalities of athletics, boccia, and football 5. With 264 children and young people aged 7 to 17 years (with and without disabilities) registered for free, the event took place at the Tuna Luso Brasileira Gymnasium in Belém.

The sports event is national and took place in 124 cities across the 27 federative units of Brazil, from 8 am to 11:30 am this Saturday, with free entry. The second edition is scheduled for September 20.

The secretary of Seel, Cássio Andrade, participated in the Festival and emphasized the importance of the event. "The Government of Pará, through Seel, carries out the Parádesporto program to promote and include our Paralympic athletes, this shows the work in favor of our young people who represent us defending the colors of the Pará flag. This Paralympic Festival counts on the partnership of our teachers and the Brazilian Paralympic Committee. We will always be supporting and encouraging Pará sports because sports is happiness," said the secretary of Seel.

The gym was divided into three stations so that the modalities could occur simultaneously. Teachers and instructors assisted people with physical and intellectual disabilities, with deafness or autism. Family members accompanied the competitions in the stands.
The event includes children without disabilities, aiming to promote interactions between participants from both groups and break prejudices regarding the abilities of those with some physical, intellectual, or sensory limitations.

"Today was very productive, I am happy for this moment, as a teacher of the Seel Paradesporto project, we just want to thank, first of all, God and then the people who support us with this project. There were athletes participating over 17 years old, this shows that inclusion has no age and we accept everyone," said teacher Valdir Aguiar.
