During Pararraiá 2025, the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), through the Directorate of Public Security Policies and Social Prevention (DPS), reinforces the fight against violence against women, children, adolescents, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as registering the IMEIs of mobile devices in the 'Alerta Celular Pará' system. The DPS teams have been distributing stickers and flyers since the beginning of the event to the population attending the largest São João in the Amazon.

The initiative is part of the actions of the Social Prevention Directorate of Segup, which works with vulnerable groups, providing support and guidance aimed at raising awareness among the population in combating sexual crimes against children and adolescents, sexual harassment, and violence against women and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

The coordinator of the DPS, delegate Ana Paula, highlights the presence of the teams at the event, which encompasses a large number of people, and also reiterates the role of security in raising awareness about the importance of assisting in the fight against violence towards the most vulnerable groups.

“Segup, through the DPS, is present for all four days of Parárraiá, doing prevention work, guiding the population about the virtual women's police station, about the women's totem, which is located next to the mobile CICC, in combating violence against children and adolescents and also against the LGBTQIA+ community. We are doing prevention work on these three topics, in addition to encouraging people to register in Alerta Celular Pará through the QR code, so that security can cross-reference IMEI data of mobile devices in case of theft or robbery, thus assisting in the cross-referencing of data from occurrence records for the recovery of devices in case of loss,” she said.

Rose de Oliveira, an elderly caregiver, attending Pararraiá for the 2nd time, was one of the people approached by the team to obtain information and guidance regarding the Women's Police Station, and she valued the initiative.

“This initiative from the Government to raise awareness about our rights as citizens and as women is very important, because sometimes we feel insecure. I hope they continue this work and extend it to communities and neighborhoods, so that we women can know our rights and seek them,” she said.

In addition to direct contact with the population, information is also posted on bathroom doors and at strategic points of the event as a form of direct communication for potential victims, as well as alerting about the practice of violence against vulnerable groups.

“I think it's good because it's protection for us women, and I think there are many women who are not aware of the dangers. We haven't witnessed anything like that here in the restaurant with any customers, but if I see something, I can do something, right?” she pointed out.

Pararraiá 2025 - The security scheme set up for the largest São João in the Amazon is coordinated by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), along with other agencies of the State Security System.

A total of more than 5,700 integrated public agents will be gathered, distributed over the four days of the event, to ensure reinforcement in personnel and the safety of the public attending the programming at the Mangueirão stadium in Belém.
