The lecture will address as its programmatic content the understanding of the art system and its dynamics, discussions on the boundaries between peripheral and institutional art, and critical and strategic reflections on action in the artistic field.
Presenting the complex field of action and artistic production for the various facets of this universe, the understanding of dynamics and personal modes as well as objects in spaces come into play.
The event will be led by Jean Ferreira, an activist engineer for reading and a scholar of public policies for access to books, and Cristina Viviani, a doctor in anthropology from the Federal University of Pará, a researcher in power relations in contemporary visual arts from a decolonial perspective, and production coordinator at the Cultural Center Bienal das Amazônias. The professional experiences shared by the speakers will be about the complexity of the differentiated systematics between peripheral and institutional.
"The lecture aims to discuss and problematize the contradictions of the system and possible paths to act and continue creating in such a challenging field as the arts," affirm Cristina Viviani and Jean Ferreira.
