HRPM enhances physiotherapy service with new flow for post-surgical patients
With the reorganization, it will be possible to serve both hospitalized patients in the hospital and those from the entire region who have undergone surgeries or treatments in other institutions
With the aim of further qualifying the care in the physiotherapy outpatient clinic, the Regional Public Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, restructured the access flows to the service, focusing on assisting patients recovering from surgery, of all age groups.
With the reorganization of the HRPM physiotherapy outpatient clinic, it will be possible to serve both hospitalized patients in the hospital and those from the entire region who have undergone surgeries or treatments in other institutions, following the flow of the state regulation system.
This change will avoid unnecessary travel to other cities, allowing users to receive their care in a medium and high complexity hospital, with a specialized multiprofessional team and state-of-the-art technology equipment. Thus, patients can reduce costs and the time away from family, receiving appropriate care closer to home.
Marcello Ferreira, doctor and technical director of HRPM, explains that, with the reorganization of the care flow in accordance with the hospital's profile, the unit solidifies its focus on post-surgical patients given their specific needs for rehabilitation.
The physiotherapist at HRPM, Rarison Nunes, explains that the physiotherapy outpatient clinic serves hospitalized patients with traumas and in post-operative care. “We assess the patient and create an individualized care protocol, aiming for recovery and the resumption of functionality as quickly as possible, so that they can return to their daily life activities,” he pointed out.
Approval – One of the service users, Juan Alves dos Santos, 27, expressed his satisfaction by highlighting the importance of HRPM for the region, emphasizing access to a variety of specialized services.
“I am very grateful for the experience I am having because I underwent surgery and received full attention from the professionals. This gave me confidence, and I am satisfied. The hospital offers quality and humanized care; it is essential,” emphasized the warehouse assistant.
Data – Between January and April 2025, the physiotherapy team performed 9,657 services to internal and external users. In 2024, there were 18,887 physiotherapy sessions recorded for external users and 13,795 sessions for internal patients.
