In the municipality of Conceição do Araguaia, in southeastern Pará, Governor Helder Barbalho delivered benefits from the housing program Sua Casa to 167 families. The checks delivered this Saturday (7) are related to the second phase of the benefit, which ensures the completion of the house construction.

For the governor, the benefit is an opportunity for families in greatest need to improve their housing unit.

“I want to congratulate the Cohab team, which does very important work to assist those who need it most, so they can improve their homes. Each family is receiving about R$ 16,000, and with this resource, they can purchase construction materials and pay for the labor of the mason, thus contributing to the dream of owning a home,” said the head of the state executive.

The Sua Casa initiative guarantees assistance for the acquisition of construction materials and the payment of workers employed during the construction, reconstruction, and expansion of properties. The amount granted is up to R$ 21,000 in cases of families with persons with disabilities, where the housing needs adaptations in its physical structure.

In total, about 500 families have benefited from the Sua Casa program in Conceição do Araguaia over the past six years.

For those who received the benefit, it is the opportunity to complete the long-dreamed construction of their own home. This is the case of housewife Tarsila da Silva Costa, who made a point of mentioning that with this resource, she will complete the construction of her house.

I am very happy and realizing another dream, and I can only be grateful. With this second phase, I will finish my little house, do the finishing touches, and I still want to build a wall all around for more security,” said the housewife.

Sua Casa: Keliane Lázara Nunes de Alencar, happy with the arrival of the tiles

According to Keliane Nunes de Alencar, the opportunity of the benefit ensured the realization of her dream, as she only had the land but was unable to build her house. “First, the government released the first phase for us, and I was able to do a lot with that money. I finished my bathroom, got all the flooring, the plastering, and so it was a very good help. And now the second phase will arrive, and I will plaster my whole house, do the finishing touches, to have a nice little house for my daughters and my husband,” she said.

The Sua Casa program primarily serves families living in social risk situations, such as extreme poverty, victims of disasters like fires, floods, storms, collapses, etc. It also assists the elderly, families of persons with disabilities, among other technical criteria.
