During the period from 4 to 6, the municipality of Xinguara hosted the Regional Meeting of Socioeducational Care, Araguaia Region, promoted by the Pará Foundation for Socioeducational Care (Fasepa), through the Coordination of Regionalization and Support for Municipalization (Cream).

The initiative is part of the Government Program for Socioassistance Rights aimed at strengthening municipal socioeducational systems through dialogue and coordination among public entities.

77 representatives from the municipalities of Água Azul do Norte, Cumaru do Norte, Floresta do Araguaia, Pau D’Arco, Redenção, Rio Maria, Santa Maria das Barreiras, Santana do Araguaia, São Félix do Xingu, Sapucaia, Tucumã, and Xinguara, the host of the meeting, participated in the event.

The event focuses on the care of adolescents and young people who are subject to socioeducational measures in an open environment, Assisted Freedom (LA), and Community Service (PSC), as well as those who have already completed the measures, referred to as Post Measure.

The methodology adopted in the meeting strengthened the integration between public policies aimed at socioeducation, promoting the renegotiation of multisectoral actions. In this process, managers and professionals review previously established commitments, adjusting action strategies according to new demands, identified challenges, local specificities, and any changes in guidelines.

According to Fasepa, the meeting also provided technical updates for the teams and a joint analysis of limits and possibilities in caring for adolescents and young people. This collective construction aims to guarantee rights, promote the effectiveness of socioeducational measures, and improve institutional practices in the participating municipalities.

According to Jane Garete Teixeira, who is part of the Cream team, one of the positive milestones of the Araguaia Region is the fact that all its municipalities have already developed and approved Municipal Socioeducational Care Plans by their respective Municipal Councils for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CMDCA).

For Jane Teixeira, "the meeting reinforces the importance of the periodic review of these plans, with updates of municipal diagnostics and agreed actions, being a way to renew the commitment among the parties collaboratively, to ensure that actions continue to be effective and aligned with current demands," she highlighted.

The meeting was conducted by professionals Jane Garete Teixeira and Domingos Campelo. They work directly in mobilization and technical support to municipalities, strengthening the commitment to a more humanized, articulated, and effective socioeducation in the Araguaia Region.

According to Fasepa, the regional event reaffirms the strategic role of the Foundation in consolidating integrated public policies that ensure the protection and rights of adolescents and young people in situations of vulnerability or in compliance with socioeducational measures.
