To discuss agendas for the development of tourism in Pará and the planning of actions by the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur) for 2025, members and representatives of entities linked to tourism held, on Monday (2), the 109th meeting of the Tourism Development Forum (Fomentur) in Belém.

The extensive agenda included presentations from entities and financial institutions. Speaker Márcia Alves, coordinator of the Business Council of Tourism and Hospitality (Cetur PA), presented the Vai Turismo Project, an initiative of the National Confederation of Commerce of Goods, Services, and Tourism (CNC). The initiative aims to integrate proposals and connect institutions to recommend and monitor public policies that encourage the sustainable development of Brazilian tourist destinations, further boosting the sector.

Douglas Santiago, general manager of the COP30 Space Network, spoke about opportunities and financing lines from Caixa Econômica Federal for tourism. Angelina Barbosa, coordinator of Casa Agro, discussed the project conceived by the Faepa-Senar system at the end of 2024, which has already conducted training courses with English classes for internal audiences, courses aimed at young leaders, international business workshops, and soon classes will be opened to the external public.

Agricultural production and cuisine are natural tourist attractions

“One of the premises of Casa Agro is to ensure that agribusiness and our producers can specialize more and more, so that their businesses can expand, whether through agriculture, tourism, which involves their region, and cuisine, as we have productive chains focused on this. Our work is precisely to evolve Pará's agribusiness, so that it can stay one step ahead, improve every day, and we can have a positive image and understand the importance of what Pará's agribusiness is within the country and the world,” pointed out Angelina Barbosa.

In the planning of Setur's actions and strategies, the novelties this year are the new tourism brand of Pará, the tourism signage of Belém for COP30, and the State of Pará's Tourism Platform.

VisitPará invites to experience the Amazon of Pará

The tourism brand has returned to being Visit Pará and was developed with the purpose of visually translating the richness, diversity, and vibrant pulse of Pará. The identity invites visitors to experience the Amazon in an intense and genuine way, going beyond stereotypes to value what the State has most authentically: its nature, culture, and people. The concept, typography, and graphic elements were presented by the director of institutional relations of Secom, Flavia Lima. The new brand has already begun to be promoted at trade fair booths, on social media, and on the shirts of players from Remo and Paysandu.

Until November, the month of COP30, Belém will be provided with new tourism signage, aimed at improving the orientation of tourists and residents and enhancing local attractions with bilingual and standardized signage. A total of 721 sign units will be installed, with 611 featuring a projected arm. The arrangement will be made in 28 tourist circuits. The vertical signage project must follow the current norms and specifications in the Brazilian Guide for Tourist Signage – IPHAN, DNIT, and the Brazilian Traffic Code. The presentation was made by Cleber Gomes, a tourism expert from Setur.

VisitPará Platform

The State Tourism Platform promises to be a game changer in state tourism, with the first version expected to be launched at the end of August during the Tourism Fair in São Paulo. The platform will host the new promotional website for Pará: Visit Pará.

The technology consists of an integrated virtual environment for the management and promotion of tourism, offering greater control over the region's tourism inventory, establishing a direct connection with local entrepreneurs, and enhancing the dissemination of tourism content, with the aim of expanding the destination's reach nationally and internationally.
The platform can be accessed for free by tourists, the trade, and various managers, such as municipalities and IGRs.

“With this, the integrated system connects all agents involved in tourism management, promoting integration between state and municipal governments and sector entrepreneurs, such as hotels, restaurants, and commerce. The result is more efficient, collaborative management aligned with the current needs of tourism,” explains Ricardo Pantoja.

The platform's differentiators are the digital profiles of visitors; through the 'destination heat map,' it is possible to obtain extensive real-time data on visitor movement and even their travel plans. With Analytics, it is possible to have detailed information about the performance of content published on the web.

Public bodies establish GT to boost initiatives

During the meeting, the formation of a Working Group (GT) was also officially announced, composed of members from Setur, Semas, GIZ, to support Community-Based Tourism (TBC). The state policy for TBC, concepts, and itineraries that are already in operation were presented by Márcia Bastos, a tourism expert responsible for coordinating TBC at Setur.

Topics such as fundraising for local tourism from the Ministry of Tourism and the realization of the state meeting of the Tourism Regionalization program were presented by Hugo Almeida, manager of the structuring of tourist destinations at Setur, who reinforced the importance of municipalities being present on the Tourism Map, as it has become the only way to access federal resources.

Participation in national and international fairs, the strategy for each market was addressed in the presentation Promotional Marketing of the Pará Destination, by the marketing coordinator of Setur, Victor Lopes.

The meeting was presided over and conducted by the head of the tourism department, Eduardo Costa. “We have an important space here for sharing experiences, discussing market trends, partnerships among the trade, projects, and ideas that promote the development of tourism in our State,” pointed out Costa.
