Pará promotes tourist products at BNT Mercosul and strengthens presence in the south of the country
During the two days of the event, Setur conducted four training sessions focused on the main state tourist routes and reached 480 travel agents
With an intense and strategic program, the State of Pará was present at BNT Mercosul 2024, held on May 30 and 31, in Balneário Camboriú (SC). Through the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur), Pará actively participated in the fair with actions aimed at promoting Pará's destinations, training travel agents, and strengthening commercial connections with the southern market, especially Santa Catarina.
During the two days of the event, Setur promoted four training sessions focused on the main tourist routes in Pará, reaching 480 travel agents. The presentations highlighted products and attractions such as cultural diversity, natural wealth, and typical cuisine, aiming to expand professionals' knowledge about Pará's tourism potential.
“The South of Brazil is a strategic market for national tourism. According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, the states in the region are among those that send the most tourists to other destinations in the country. Southern tourists tend to have high purchasing power, value authentic experiences, good cuisine, nature, culture, and comfort. Among the segments most sought after by this audience are ecotourism, experiential tourism, gastronomic tourism, and cultural routes,” explains the Director of Tourist Products at Setur, Alessandra Pamplona.
One of the highlights of the event was the exclusive dinner held on May 30 for a select group of 100 travel agents. This unprecedented action within the fair's program was the only one with a regional menu and featured the signature of chef Arturo Báez, who provided a true immersion in Amazonian flavors.
“Participating in BNT Mercosul as a chef was an indescribable honor. Presenting Pará's cuisine, with all its richness of flavors and stories, at such an important event for tourism was a unique opportunity to show that Pará is a gastronomic powerhouse. More than just feeding, our dinner told stories, evoked memories, and connected travel agents to our state through food. It is a joy to know that Pará was the only one to bring its typical dishes to this experience!” commented chef Báez.
Participation in BNT Mercosul reaffirms the strategy of the Government of Pará with the resumption and expansion of strategic markets in the South of the country. Santa Catarina, in particular, has been the focus of Setur's promotional actions, which participated in previous editions of the fair and seeks to consolidate Pará as a desired destination among travelers from the southern region.
“The strong presence of operators and agents from the region at BNT Mercosul reinforces the importance of promoting destinations like Pará, which gather products compatible with the desires and behaviors of this visitor profile,” concludes Alessandra Pamplona.
