In June, the capital of the United Nations Climate Conference (COP 30) will also become the capital of Brazilian agribusiness. Belém will host, from June 10 to 12, at the Hangar Convention & Fair Center of the Amazon, the National Seminar on Agricultural Inputs (Senagri-2025).

Promoted by the Brazilian Society for Agricultural Defense (SBDA) with the support of the State Government, through the Agricultural Defense Agency of the State of Pará (Adepará), the event will bring together specialists, professionals, distributors, and representatives from the public and private sectors to discuss and promote technological innovations, policies, and regulatory practices for the agricultural sector, focusing on sustainability and food security.

Divided into 17 thematic axes, the initiative aims to debate strategic issues of production, distribution, and regulation of agricultural inputs, as well as present technological solutions and innovations that directly impact agriculture in Brazil.

The extensive program includes a total of 67 lectures; round tables; meetings on various topics related to agriculture (pesticides, seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, bioinputs, machinery, equipment, and implements, plant health, animal health); in addition to eight institutional meetings (Seminar of the National Agribusiness Commission and the Meeting of the National Union of Agricultural Inspectors - Unafa); and important technical meetings such as the National Forum of Agricultural Sanitation Executors (Fonesa), the National Meeting on Seeds and Seedlings (Enasem), the National Meeting on Inspection and Pesticides (Enfisa), and the National Meeting on Plant Health (Ensave), which will discuss issues related to the inspection of pesticides, seeds, seedlings, and plant health.

The opening keynote speech of the event will be given by the Secretary of Agricultural Defense of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Carlos Goulart, who is an agronomist and holds a master's degree in Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture, with an emphasis on Phytosanitary, from the Agronomic Institute of Campinas.

Jamir Macedo highlights the importance of the event for the agricultural defense of the state

For the General Director of Adepará, Jamir Macedo, it will be "a very important moment to strengthen agricultural defense actions in Pará and Brazil, considering the efforts that have been made to keep the territory of Pará free from diseases and strengthened in the search for new markets for regional agricultural products."

The target audience includes agricultural inspectors (agronomists and veterinarians), agricultural technicians, rural producers (farmers and ranchers), liberal professionals in agriculture, high school students, and university students in agronomy, veterinary medicine, animal science, among other courses.

According to state agricultural inspector Luiz Guamá, manager of pesticides at Adepará, Senagri constitutes a grand event, an opportunity to discuss major issues involving public policies for agricultural defense, as well as a chance for professionals to update their knowledge without having to leave the state.

Luiz Guamá emphasizes the grandeur of the event for the state

"The event will bring new information to participants and, especially, to the Adepará staff, for our field inspectors, technical managers who coordinate agricultural defense programs, where we will have the opportunity to refresh our knowledge on the topics of plant defense and inspection and animal health. We will also have discussions on the use of drones, which today is a very efficient technology but needs to be operated by qualified people. In addition, we will discuss the new rules for pesticides and the new law on bioinputs, which are those that come from nature and are less harmful to the environment," he detailed.
