Government of Pará conducts largest land title delivery in Viseu

Land regularization strengthens family farming and ensures legal security for 32 rural communities

The Government of Pará held, this Wednesday (22), the largest delivery of land titles in the history of the municipality of Viseu, in the northeastern region of the State. A total of 1,067 documents were delivered to families from 32 rural communities, promoting legal security, appreciation of properties, and access to public policies aimed at the development of family farming.

The ceremony was attended by Governor Helder Barbalho, Lieutenant Governor Hana Ghassan, state and municipal authorities, and representatives from the beneficiary communities.

“The city of Viseu has family farming as its vocation, which is the locomotive of the local economy. Land regularization ensures that the farmer can access credit, invest, and improve their income. With the land title in hand, they will have dignity and opportunities,” said the governor.

Lieutenant Governor Hana Ghassan highlighted the impact of the action for the families served. “We are fulfilling a dream and repaying the trust of the population. This represents security for each family and more opportunities to transform their realities with the support of the public power,” she reinforced.

Historic advancement – With this new delivery, Viseu reaches the mark of 2,093 titles issued between 2019 and 2025, consolidating itself as one of the municipalities with the highest volume of rural land regularization in the state. The initiative is led by the Institute of Lands of Pará (Iterpa), which in recent years has undergone a process of restructuring and modernization.

“When the governor took office, Iterpa was in disrepair. Today, we have an agency that has become a reference in Brazil. Land regularization is essential to attract investments and strengthen the economy of municipalities,” said the mayor of Viseu, Cristiano Vale.

Recognized right – One of the beneficiaries was teacher Nathália de Jesus Tavares Piquiá. “I was very happy. Receiving a land title is a big step, especially because now it is in my name. The expectation of the delivery created a festive atmosphere among the families,” she said emotionally.

The communities benefited include locations such as Itabiri, Açaiteua, Bombom, Timba, among others. The titles grant farmers security over land ownership and the possibility of accessing rural credit programs, promoting production, and acquiring agricultural inputs.

During the event, the governor also reinforced that access to land documentation is essential to ensure the permanence of men and women in the countryside with quality of life. “Many times, the farmer needs the title to buy essential inputs, such as lime and seeds. Regularization is a fundamental step to generate jobs and income in the countryside,” concluded Helder Barbalho.
