HGT holds Nursing Week focusing on mental health and sustainability
During the program, conversation circles were held led by the hospital's Psychology service

With a program marked by recognition and gratitude, the General Hospital of Tailândia (HGT) held, on May 20 and 21, Nursing Week with the aim of valuing these professionals, directly linked to the care and recovery of patients, as well as reflecting on the challenges of the profession in the constant pursuit of maintaining care and safety for users in the region.

With the theme "Nursing and Sustainability: promoting mental health amidst environmental challenges and COP30 goals", the opening took place in the external area of the hospital unit. The HGT's care manager, Milton Peixoto, highlighted the importance of the event and recognition for the category.

"This is a moment to recognize the work of nursing professionals, who deal daily with many challenges within the hospital environment. They are the ones providing assistance, welcoming patients, and ensuring that care is delivered safely and humanely. It is essential that we value this work, not only during this week but constantly, because they are important pieces in the functioning of our hospital and in the recovery of patients," said the manager.
During the program, conversation circles were held led by the hospital's Psychology service. The activities provided spaces for listening and reflection, addressing topics related to the mental health of professionals, focusing on the challenges of daily hospital life, self-care, and the importance of strengthening practices that promote emotional well-being within the unit.

"Caring for the mental health of professionals is a necessity that directly impacts both the care provided to patients and the quality of life within the hospital environment. It is essential that employees have spaces to reflect, share their experiences, and strengthen self-care strategies," highlighted HGT psychologist, Izabel Alves.

Data - Nursing professionals at HGT represent almost half of the workforce of the unit, totaling 166 employees out of a total of 339 staff, which corresponds to approximately 50% of the workforce. They work in various sectors, such as inpatient clinics, outpatient care, surgical center, emergency, and other assistance areas, ensuring the care and safety of patients.
