Hemopa promotes blood donation campaign at the Usina da Paz in Icuí-Guajará

The itinerant action featured a mobile unit and a setup room to increase access to voluntary blood donation in Ananindeua

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa) held, this Wednesday (21), another external blood donation campaign, this time at the Usina da Paz Professor Amintas Pinheiro, located in the Icuí-Guajará neighborhood in Ananindeua. The action, carried out in partnership with the State Secretariat for Citizenship Articulation (Seac), is part of the strategy to bring hemotherapy services closer to communities.

With the support of Hemopa's mobile unit and an adapted room at the Usina itself, the campaign provided adequate structure for screening and collection, ensuring comfort and safety for the volunteers.

According to Camila Medina, social worker at Hemopa's Donor Recruitment Management, the initiative reinforces the institution's commitment to increasing access to donation. "Since 2022, we have been working with all Usinas da Paz, promoting itinerant campaigns and raising awareness among the population about the importance of donating blood. Being present in these territories is extremely gratifying," she stated.

The Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga, also highlighted the social impact of the initiative. "The campaign represents a gesture of solidarity and a commitment to life. The Usina da Paz, by hosting actions like this, strengthens the bonds of citizenship and social responsibility in the communities served," she said.

Among the donors, Patrícia Queiroz shared her story. "I started donating over 10 years ago when my husband needed blood for surgery. I saw firsthand the importance of solidarity. Since then, donating has become an act of love, empathy, and commitment to others," she shared.

Service - The Hemopa Foundation will hold another external blood donation campaign next Thursday (22), this time at the Intercultural College of the Amazon (Fiama), located at Rod. Augusto Montenegro, 61, in the Parque Verde neighborhood in Belém. The action will take place from 3 PM to 8 PM, with services provided in a mobile unit and a setup room.
