The State Traffic Department (Detran) continues to promote a series of educational actions in Belém as part of the Yellow May 2025 campaign, aimed at raising awareness about road safety. The activities are part of the Integrate in Traffic, Culture of Safety in Traffic, and Schools in Traffic programs, and are carried out through projects such as Detran in Companies, Educational Approaches on the Road, and Traffic and School: Walking Towards Citizenship.

On May 19, the team from the Educational Integration Management (Gieduc) conducted an educational approach on Padre Bruno Secchi Avenue in Belém, with the support of the Municipal Urban Security Secretariat of Belém (Segbel). During the action, 226 drivers were approached and guided on safe behavior in traffic, focusing on risk factors such as not using seat belts and helmets. The activity also included the distribution of educational materials, such as brochures, reaching 115 passengers of cars and motorcycles.

Companies are also part of the educational actions. The Traffic Safety Culture Management (GCTRAN), linked to the Operational Technical Directorate (DTO) and the Traffic Education Coordination (CED), promoted educational lectures with employees of private institutions. On May 19, the team was at the company Ellca Pará, where 204 participants attended a presentation about the Yellow May movement, emphasizing the responsibility of road users and the issue of speeding. On May 20, it was the turn of Século Construções to host the activity. The educational lecture had 49 participants and aimed to reinforce each citizen's role in promoting safer traffic. Educational work in companies occurs throughout the year but tends to intensify in May due to the international movement. The lectures have been taking place since the first week of May and will continue until the end of the month.

On the same day, the Traffic and School: Walking Towards Citizenship project, part of the Schools in Traffic program and under the responsibility of the Projects and Pedagogical Partnerships Management (GPPPED), brought the theme of Yellow May to the State School of Elementary and Secondary Education Dona Helena Guilhon. The activity gathered 76 participants, including 74 students aged 12 to 16 and two teachers, for a moment of reflection on the five main risk factors in traffic and the importance of adopting responsible behaviors.

“The actions reinforce Detran's commitment to traffic education as a tool for social transformation and accident prevention. The Yellow May movement, which this year has the theme 'Slow Down, Your Greatest Asset is Life!', seeks to mobilize different segments of society to reduce accident rates and save lives,” explains Detran's education coordinator, Carlos Valente.
