In a ceremony marked by recognition of innovation, responsibility, and sustainability, the Octávio Lobo Children's Oncology Hospital (HOL) received, this Friday (16), the title of "Brazilian Company of the Year 2025" during the 18th edition of the LAQI Impact Summit - Brazil, promoted by the Latin American Quality Institute (LAQI). The event brought together more than 500 business leaders in São Paulo to celebrate initiatives aligned with the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) pillars and the challenge "Total Responsibility: the strategy for innovative and sustainable companies." The health institution is managed by the Diretrizes Institute (ID), under a management contract with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa).

The award recognizes the hospital as a national reference in hospital management and for its inspiring role in building a more sustainable and humane future. It consolidates ID's position as a health service manager in Brazil. The distinction is part of LAQI's commitment - a non-profit social organization based in Panama - to promote Latin American organizations that incorporate the principles of sustainability, transparent governance, and social responsibility into their organizational culture.

In addition to the main award, Hoiol also celebrates the achievement of the Q-ESG Certification, awarded exclusively via blockchain technology - an innovation that ensures transparency, traceability, and authenticity throughout the validation process. The certification recognizes companies that integrate ESG practices into their business strategy, as well as elevates global prestige and attests to the Hospital's alignment with the highest international standards in socio-environmental responsibility.

Among the national and international recognitions received by the institution, honorable mentions in the "Friend of the Environment 2023" Award, granted by the State Health Department of São Paulo, stand out. The distinction recognized the sustainable practices adopted by the Octávio Lobo Hospital, under ID's management, such as encouraging the recycling of solid waste and the construction of toys and educational games from recyclable materials.

The Diretrizes Institute also becomes part of the Latin American Quality Institute (LAQI) network with the International Certificate "Member Certification," strengthening its role as a reference in quality in Latin America. Finally, the recognition extends to leadership with the Honorary Certificate "Entrepreneur of the Year 2025," honoring the executives of the institute and the institution managed by their strategic vision and dedication to business excellence. The recognition is one of ID's commitments to the units managed in the country, based on a management model focused on processes and centered on the user.

For José Augusto Florenzano, executive administrative director of the Diretrizes Institute, which manages the hospital, the recognition is the result of management committed to social transformation and continuous innovation. "The Q-ESG certification and the title of Brazilian Company of the Year 2025 challenge us to continue raising quality standards, integrating technology, ethical governance, and humanized care in every decision. This is a milestone that strengthens our vision for the future and our responsibility to the planet and society," he declared.

Sara Castro, director of Hoiol, highlighted the significance of the award for the team and the patients served. "Receiving this recognition from LAQI, at a time when Belém will host the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), reaffirms that we are on the right path, placing humanization, clinical excellence, and sustainability at the center of our mission. Each achievement is the result of the dedicated work of a team that believes in the transformative impact of health with social responsibility," she stated.

The event also featured conferences by experts and business leaders on topics related to total quality, sustainability, and Continuous Improvement. According to the founder and CEO of LAQI, Dr. Daniel Maximilian da Costa, the delivery of the certification reinforces the role of institutions that lead with purpose. "Excellence is non-negotiable, and the international Q-ESG certification, issued by blockchain, represents our commitment to transparent and innovative management. Through Total Responsibility, we are ready to lead sustainable transformation and inspire a new generation of companies aligned with global challenges," he stated.
