Secult launches Virtual Network of Museums, partnership with the Amazon Museum Forum
The initiative aims to strengthen the museum institutions of Pará and align with the National Sectoral Plan of the Brazilian Institute of Museums
On this Thursday (15), the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult), through the Integrated System of Museums and Memories (SIMM), launched the Virtual Network of Museums and Memory Points. The project aims to give visibility to museums, memory points, and other community initiatives. The launch took place at the Eneida de Moraes auditorium, at the Palacete Faciola Cultural Center, as part of the 23rd National Museum Week.

The Network is the result of a partnership between Secult and the Forum of Community-Based Museums and Sociocultural Practices of the Amazon, and seeks to align the actions developed in the state with the guidelines of the National Sectoral Plan of Museums 2025-2035 of the Brazilian Institute of Museums (Ibram).
From now on, interested organizations can have a space for disclosure on the official website of the State museums (museus.pa.gov.br). Various categories will be incorporated into the Network, including museums, memory points, community initiatives, among others. The proposal is to bring together interested parties capable of a legitimization strategy that enables the capture of new institutional partnerships.
“Eventually, we receive these requests from some other museums, partners, who would like to be on our site in some way. So, establishing this network can be a way to strengthen all the museum spaces in the state, not just those of the integrated museum system [of Secult]. We are starting today the collaborative construction of this network, the goals we can plan and achieve together,” says SIMM researcher, Cássia da Rosa.
Interested institutions will be able to register to join the Network through a form available on the museums' website. More information can be requested via email [email protected].
