Ministry of Culture and Cultural Foundation of Pará promote meeting with public managers in Redenção and Marabá
The goal is to clarify doubts about fundraising from parliamentary amendments and the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB) to promote initiatives aimed at fostering reading in Pará.

Municipalities in the integration regions of Araguaia and Carajás will receive the first edition of the Meeting with Public Managers and Parliamentarians (EGPP) from May 21 to 23, which aims to present the best ways to raise funds from parliamentary amendments and the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB) to promote initiatives aimed at fostering reading in Pará.

The meetings will be held in the cities of Redenção and Marabá, on May 21 and 23, respectively. In Redenção, the meeting will take place at the municipal education secretary's office. In Marabá, the event will be held at the State University of Pará (UEPA). The initiative is from the State Government, through the Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture (MinC).
In addition to public managers and parliamentarians, coordinators of public libraries and technicians working in the culture and education secretariats can participate. Interested parties must fill out the electronic form available on the website of the Cultural Foundation of Pará. Questions can be clarified by calling (91) 3284-9084.

“The goal of the meeting is to stimulate actions that result in the strengthening, construction, or reopening of public libraries, generating a real and positive impact on the formation of readers and the education of our State. For this reason, we invited the Ministry of Culture to build this event with us and to guide those interested in fundraising through a workshop on parliamentary amendment projects,” details the president of the Cultural Foundation of Pará, Thiago Miranda.

Representative of MinC, the coordinator of the National System of Public Libraries (SNBP) of Brazil, Marina de Lima Rabelo, explains that this type of initiative encourages better dialogue between different levels of government. “We need mutual dialogue. We need to learn from the practices and dynamics of the State and, at the same time, convey information from the federal level to all municipalities and territories in Pará,” she details. She will be the one to conduct the workshop “Parliamentary Amendment Projects for Public Libraries” during the EGPP in Redenção and Marabá.
“Our expectation is to raise awareness among cultural managers in Pará and understand the challenges of this extensive geography, find paths together, and develop strategies for strengthening the State in the National System of Public Libraries and the National Reading Incentive Program,” concludes Marina Rabelo.
