Government of Pará delivers equipment to strengthen health in the 17 municipalities of Marajó
Delivery ceremony, attended by Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, ensured equipment such as ultrasounds, monitors, and dental chairs

The Government of Pará is enhancing the decentralization of public health by delivering new equipment aimed at strengthening the medium and high complexity assistance network in the 17 municipalities of the Marajó region. The delivery ceremony of the devices took place on the morning of this Monday (12) at the Government Palace in Belém, with the presence of Vice Governor Hana Ghassan. Also present were the State Secretary of Health (Sespa), Ivete Vaz, the Deputy Secretary of Health Policy Management, Sipriano Ferraz, mayors, and municipal health secretaries.
Vice Governor Hana Ghassan emphasized that the action is part of a structured plan coordinated with the municipalities. "This delivery was thought out, planned, and executed with a united effort. We know the challenges faced by mayors and municipal health secretaries. Therefore, our commitment is to work in an integrated manner to ensure that investments reach where they are most needed," emphasized Hana Ghassan.
"These equipment represent dignity, respect, and care for the Marajoara population. They will save lives, improve services, and contribute to a more efficient, accessible, and humanized public health system," said the Vice Governor of Pará.

Each municipality received a kit consisting of an ultrasound machine, two multiparameter monitors, and a complete dental chair. The total investment was R$ 3,755,328.00, with each set of equipment valued at R$ 234,708.00.
The municipalities benefited were Afuá, Anajás, Bagre, Breves, Cachoeira do Arari, Chaves, Curralinho, Gurupá, Melgaço, Muaná, Ponta de Pedras, Portel, Salvaterra, Santa Cruz do Arari, São Sebastião da Boa Vista, Soure, and Oeiras do Pará.
More structure - The delivery of the equipment marks another advancement in the actions of the Government of Pará focused on the qualified interiorization of state public health. The intention is to ensure that the Marajoara population has access to a more adequate structure for diagnosis and care.
The State Secretary of Health, Ivete Vaz, highlighted the importance of the initiative for the efficiency of municipal services. "We know that the demand for quality care is always growing, and that is why we constantly work to expand and strengthen services," stated Ivete.
The head of Sespa also said that with the new equipment, municipalities gain more autonomy. "The delivery represents a significant step to ensure that municipalities have better conditions to offer faster and more effective diagnoses. We are joining efforts with municipalities and the Federal Government to bring medium and high complexity services closer to the people."
The reinforcement of the structure of health units is even more necessary when considering the geographical reality of the archipelago. The regional secretary of Marajó, Odimar Wanderley Salomão, recalled the logistical difficulties faced daily by health teams. "Anyone who knows Marajó knows how difficult it is to bring quality health to all corners of the island. This equipment will help a lot, especially in primary care, which often needs to stabilize patients before a transfer," he stated.
The delivery was celebrated with joy by the present municipal managers. Representing the Marajoara mayors, the mayor of Bagre, Clebinho, highlighted the relevance of the action. "It is a great joy to receive this equipment that will directly benefit our population. The Marajoara people thank for not being forgotten. It is this way, with presence, with listening, and with real delivery that we strengthen public policies and generate recognition," he said.
The action integrates the strategies of the Government of Pará for the interiorization of health, expanding access to exams, clinical monitoring, and quality dental care, promoting greater equity and care for the residents of the Marajoara archipelago.
