Starting this Monday (12), until May 23, traffic in sections of Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco and Rua Manoel Barata, in Belém, will undergo changes with total closure at night, from 10 PM to 5 AM. This measure is necessary for the advancement of the sewage works of Sub-Basin 4.1.1 of Una, which are part of the structural investment package for the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, COP 30, which will take place in November this year in the capital of Pará.

Closed sections

The closures will occur at the following points:

  • Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, between Avenida Senador Lemos and Rua Jerônimo Pimentel;
  • Rua Manoel Barata, between Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco and Travessa Quintino Bocaiúva.

During this period, the State Department of Public Works (Seop) advises drivers to use alternative routes, ensuring traffic flow and the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.

Sewage work progresses with 40% completion

The intervention is part of the first phase of sewage work for Sub-Basin 4.1.1 of Una, which has already reached 40% completion. The work is being carried out by the Government of Pará, through Seop, in partnership with the Federal Government and with support from Itaipu Binacional.

The new sewage collection network being implemented in the region will directly benefit the population by preventing improper waste disposal and ensuring proper treatment at the Una Station, located on Arthur Bernardes Highway.

The project includes:

  • 7,600 meters of sewage collection network;
  • Approximately 140 units of Inspection Wells (PV);
  • About 700 units of household branches;
  • Demolition and reconstruction of asphalt pavement;
  • Construction of a pumping station and a shelter for a generator.

The works are part of the Government of Pará's commitment to expand urban infrastructure and ensure a better quality of life for the population, focusing on sustainability and preparing the capital for COP 30.
