Military Police of Pará conducts tests on 4,400 new Beretta pistols in Italy
Weapons undergo rigorous technical evaluation at Italian factory before being allocated to regional commands; acquisition raises the total number of Beretta pistols to over 17,000 units

The General Command of the Military Police of Pará (PMPA) received, this Friday (09), the delegation of officers who were in Brescia, Italy, to conduct technical tests on the 4,400 new units of the Beretta APX pistol, full-size model, caliber .40. The reception was held at the General Command Headquarters in Belém, by the corporation's general commander, Colonel José Dilson Júnior.
The new firearms will be allocated to the Regional Policing Commands from VII to XIV, regions that did not previously have this type of equipment. With this acquisition, the Government of the State of Pará totals over 17,000 Beretta pistols acquired since the beginning of the current administration, reinforcing the modernization process of public security forces throughout the state.
During the mission in Italy, the Pará military accompanied a series of technical trials conducted directly on the production line of the Beretta factory. The tests included evaluating the weapon's resistance to falls in different positions, checking the trigger mechanism's functionality, and performance tests under adverse conditions. The goal was to ensure that the pistols meet the quality, durability, and safety standards required for police use.

The delegation also had access to the factory's testing range, where they could learn about other models of firearms and verify the structure of the production line, reinforcing the strategic partnership between the Military Police of Pará and the Italian company.
During the official reception, General Commander Colonel Dilson Júnior highlighted the role of the delegation and the Government of Pará's commitment to public safety. "This team was responsible for conducting the acceptance tests of the new acquisition of Beretta pistols at the factory in Brescia. They tested the firearms and gave the technical approval, a fundamental step in the process. Next week, the weapons will return to Brazil. With the purchase of these 4,400 pistols, we have reached over 17,000 units acquired only in this government. Soon, all the troops in the interior will be equipped with one of the most modern weapons in the world."

Colonel Orlandino, who was part of the technical delegation, also commented on the tests conducted. "We followed all the tests of the Beretta .40 APX pistol directly at the factory. We observed the operation, disassembly, the exchange of parts between different pistols, and confirmed the durability and efficiency of the equipment. Now, we await the delivery of the weapons in Brazil to complete this important stage."

The delivery of the new pistols represents a new advance in the PMPA modernization project. With modern and tested firearms, the police will be even better prepared to act efficiently, safely, and swiftly in combating crime in all regions of the state.
