IGEPPS Mobile Service Reaches the Guamá Integration Region
Mobile unit brings social security services within reach of insured individuals living in the interior of the State

The mobile unit of the State Institute of Social Security and Protection (IGEPPS) parked in Santa Maria do Pará, 130 km from Belém, to serve insured individuals living in the municipalities of the Guamá Integration Region.
Retired teacher Doraci Alencar, 78, wasted no time. She was one of the first to arrive. "I think it's a very valid initiative from the Government to think about the people in the interior. Traveling to Belém is very difficult, especially for the elderly, people with disabilities, like me, who use a cane. This initiative is wonderful. May it continue."

The mobile unit will remain in Santa Maria until tomorrow (9) and then will proceed to São Domingos do Capim. "Service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no bureaucracy. The technicians are ready to provide information and consult processes with the same efficiency and security as the services offered at IGEPPS agencies," emphasized Laura Machado Lobo, manager of the Administrative Support Sector of the Institute, who coordinates the mobile program and plans the truck routes, following a strict control to avoid operational interruptions.
The mobile units of the social security agency have already passed through São Miguel do Guamá, where retiree Socorro Santos resides. "I was very well attended. I left with no doubts." Another resident of the city, Pedrina dos Santos, stated: "This initiative here is grandiose."
In 2024, the mobile units traveled to 78 municipalities. More than 5,000 beneficiaries were served. The service has been ongoing since 2021 and was implemented to strengthen the Institute's expansion plan, created to decentralize social security services and facilitate access for insured individuals in the most remote cities to Social Security.

The reach of the services was made possible thanks to logistical optimization and action in new areas. “Still this year, IGEPPS intends to expand geographic coverage and the number of services in hard-to-reach areas in the interior of the State. With this, insured individuals will have access to social security services in the city where they live without needing to travel to the capital. We will also increase investments in sustainable practices to further reduce carbon emissions, as a contribution to addressing the climate crisis,” informed IGEPPS president Washington Albuquerque.
