Hemopa conducts blood donation campaign at Uepa to reinforce stocks and encourage solidarity
The action took place on the CCBS campus, in the Marco neighborhood, with support from the mobile unit and trailer of the Foundation

On this Thursday (08), the Pará Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation (Hemopa) carried out another strategic external blood collection action in partnership with the State University of Pará (Uepa), on the campus of the Center for Biological and Health Sciences (CCBS), located in the Marco neighborhood of Belém. The mobilization was supported by the mobile unit and the Foundation's collection trailer, providing adequate structure to serve volunteers with comfort and safety.

The initiative aims to expand access to blood donation and facilitate the participation of students, staff, and residents of the area, promoting a culture of solidarity and replenishing the stocks of the state blood network.
According to Vanessa Sena, social worker from the Donor Recruitment Sector of the Hemopa Foundation, the campaign reaffirms the ongoing partnership with Uepa and highlights the importance of mobilization among young people. “Once again we are here encouraging the young audience for the cause of donation, which can save up to four lives. Today, we also count on the collaboration of students from the Collective Health Education course, who are engaged in guiding, answering questions, and mobilizing other students. It’s young people encouraging young people,” she emphasized.

For Professor Emmanuel Souza, doctor and director of CCBS/Uepa, the involvement of the academic community reinforces the social and democratic commitment of the university. “Our solidarity initiation involves students, professors, and staff in a concrete action of citizenship. The partnership with Hemopa is fundamental, as blood donation represents a gesture of collective responsibility, essential for those in need,” he stated.

Medical student Alice Giacomini also participated in the campaign and shared the motivation that led her to donate. “Donating blood for me is an act of love. I have always dreamed of helping people, and today, in addition to donating blood, I registered as a bone marrow donor. Knowing that I can save up to four lives is a surreal and very rewarding feeling,” she highlighted.
The Hemopa Foundation maintains regular external collection actions in educational institutions, companies, and communities as a way to decentralize donation and engage new audiences in a practice that saves lives daily.
