The government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Planning and Administration (Seplad), presented the article titled "From Planning to Evaluation: the trajectory of alignment between the Multiannual Plan and the State Plan Amazon Now (PEAA)," during the 1st National Council of Planning Secretaries (Conseplan) in Brasília, from Tuesday (6) to this Thursday (8).

The work highlights the State's experience in building an integrated planning model, guided by results and focused on sustainability, through the inclusion of the State Plan Amazon Now (PEAA) in the formal planning and budgeting instruments, Multiannual Plan (PPA) 2024–2027, Budget Guidelines Law, and the Annual Budget Law, through prioritization criteria, specific budget classification, and graphical signaling of actions compatible with the State's decarbonization strategy.

The PEAA is based on transversal public policies that direct Pará's sustainable development strategy, focusing on developing a low-carbon economy and the sociocultural appreciation of the Amazon.

“Participation in the event in Brasília reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to improve public management and promote innovative practices in planning and evaluation of public policies. The article also highlights the role of Seplad in conducting a more participatory planning aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the strategic guidelines of the State,” said Mariana Oliveira, public management technician.

The results reinforce the role of the PPA as a transformative tool and highlight Pará's commitment to more efficient public management, oriented towards results and connected to the challenges of sustainable development.

The 1st Conseplan Congress brings together representatives from planning secretariats across the country to exchange experiences, strengthen institutions, and discuss solutions to the challenges of Brazilian public management.
