School Policing Battalion of the PM of Pará celebrates 2 years of operation in Belém
Event in Belém was attended by civil and military authorities

The School Policing Battalion (BPOE) held a ceremony to celebrate two years of operation on Tuesday (6) at the Senai Getúlio Vargas auditorium in Belém. The event was attended by civil and military authorities and celebrated the achievements of the unit.
Established through complementary law No. 165, dated April 28, 2023, the BPOE emerged from the restructuring of the former Independent School Policing Company (CIPOE), consolidating itself as a reference in preventive and community action within the school environment. The technical standardization of the Battalion is described in the Manual of Military Police Actions in School Environment, published in the amendment to BG No. 074-II, dated April 17, 2024.

Currently, the Battalion operates with school patrols, preventive operations, educational lectures, and response to incidents in educational units. The work is developed in partnership with the school community, the State Department of Education (Seduc), the Civil Police, and other institutions, aiming to prevent and combat school violence.
Among the main achievements of the unit, the 1st Military Police Training in School Protection stands out, which qualified 5,840 military police officers in two training cycles, enhancing the specialization of security forces for action in this type of environment.

On Tuesday, during the ceremony, the commander of the BPOE, Lieutenant Colonel QOPM Jailson Vaz, presented a balance of the Battalion's actions and delivered the order of the day, thanking the support of partners and highlighting the advances achieved. In recognition of the work of military police officers, the Personal Merit Award and the Tiradentes Medal were awarded to members of the unit.
"This is a symbolic moment of valuing our military police officers and strengthening partnerships with institutions such as the Civil Police. We celebrate with joy, but also aware of the new challenges. Security and education must walk together, with unity and commitment," said the commander.
As a symbol of commitment to environmental preservation and the values of the corporation, the commander presented the honorees with plant seedlings in pots painted by students from the Creche Escola UEI Terra Firme. The action reinforced the message that, just like the daily mission of public safety, caring for nature requires discipline, responsibility, and dedication.
The ceremony was presided over by Colonel QOPM Getúlio Cândido Rocha Júnior, head of the General Operations Department (DGO), who highlighted the importance of the BPOE in community mobilization and strengthening the relationship between the Military Police and the school community.
