Foreign company interested in producing and exporting cupulate receives assistance and support from Codec
The partnership aims to attract new investors for the production and export of products similar to chocolate, in addition to creating an industrial plant in Pará

The foreign company Jungle Delights, specialized in the production of a sweet similar to chocolate, received assistance and guidance from the Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec) this Tuesday (06).
The purpose of the meeting was to align a strategic partnership aimed at the company's operation in the food sector in the State, focusing on the production and export of cupulate, a product derived from cupuaçu seeds with high added value. The initiative aims to stimulate the regional bioeconomy and open new international markets for Amazonian products, contributing to economic development and job creation in the local production chain.
“The company's main goal is to produce cupulate, which is the chocolate made from cupuaçu seeds, as an ingredient for export to Europe and the United States. Through Codec, we are seeking strategic partners to establish production in the Amazon and export. In addition, we are also analyzing the possibility of setting up an industrial plant here in Pará,” said Marina Shimono, CEO of Jungle Delights.

Cupulate, which is produced from cupuaçu seeds, has a flavor and texture similar to cocoa. Its production has gained prominence as a regional and sustainable alternative to traditional chocolate. Rural and riverside communities in Pará have been boosting the economy with this production, especially in the regions of Tomé-Açu, Altamira, and Marajó. The processing utilizes a part of the fruit that would otherwise be discarded, allowing the population to benefit from employment and income, promoting the full use of Amazonian resources.
“The goal of the Company was to outline an overview of the cupuaçu market for this company. They are foreigners and do not know where to find the inputs (cupuaçu seeds) in the State of Pará. We pointed out the main depulping companies and the main experts on the cupuaçu chain so that investors can become aware of the product's scale in the regions of Pará. This partnership could potentially bring a cupulate factory in the future, which would add value to the cupuaçu seed, generating jobs and income, innovation, and sustainability for our economy,” emphasized Sabrina Sena, Codec's New Business Manager.
Due to the absence of caffeine in its composition, cupulate requires less use of chemical inputs, which is also seen as a healthier option with a lower environmental impact. With the support of the Company, the business has access to various strategic and operational advantages.
