Pre-registration open for Photography Direction workshop for Documentary Shorts
Promoted by the Cultural Foundation of Pará, the workshop offers 20 spots and free registrations for people aged 18 and over
The Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP) is accepting pre-registrations for the Photography Direction workshop for Documentary Shorts until next Tuesday (13). The activity will take place remotely on May 16 and 17 (Friday and Saturday), from 3 PM to 7 PM, aimed at individuals aged 18 and over who have access to editing programs. There are 20 spots available.
The 8 hours of activities will be conducted by Edson Palheta via Google Meet. At the end of the course, participants who have at least 90% attendance will receive a certificate.

On May 14 (Wednesday), pre-registered individuals will receive a message via WhatsApp informing them about the selection process for the workshop. Those selected will have 24 hours from the receipt of the message to confirm their attendance. Otherwise, their spot will be offered to another pre-registered individual who was not selected previously.
Content - The action offers students the opportunity to explore the pre-production and production processes in photography direction, using the documentaries "Belém Cidade Soundsystem" and "INTRA_PERIFERIA" as case studies. The goal is to observe the creative and technical stages that shaped the visual conception of these works, understanding how photography and cinematography were carefully crafted to meet the audiovisual proposals of the creators.

The activity is taught by Edson Palheta, a photographer with a background in Cinema and Audiovisual, with extensive experience in photography direction and camera assistance in documentaries, music videos, and short films. He also develops authorial projects, focusing on the documentation of religious and cultural manifestations. Among his works are the documentaries "Caminhada" (2016), "Diálogos sobre Violência na Escola" (2013), "Girau da Hidro" (2018), and "Corpos Colonizados" (2019).
The workshop's syllabus includes Introduction to photography direction in documentary; Pre-production: From idea to practice; Natural and available lighting; Filming in real situations; Post-production and color.
