Sedap transfers 30 thousand fingerlings (young fish) to the municipality of Itupiranga in southeastern Pará
The action is a partnership between Sedap, Emater, and the municipal government and has already served more than 30 fish farmers

The Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fishing (Sedap), in partnership with the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater) and the Municipal Government of Itupiranga (Tucuruí Lake Integration region), delivered 30 thousand fingerlings to more than 30 local producers. The transfer took place on the morning of this Wednesday (7) in the municipality.
The fish come from the Orion Nina Ribeiro Fingerling Station, located in Terra Alta, in northeastern Pará. The aim of the action is to promote fish farming activities in Itupiranga, as reported by fishing engineer Thiago Cruz, who is part of the team of the Aquaculture Development Coordination of Sedap (CDAQ), responsible for the action.

The transfer of fingerlings took place at the central office of Emater in Itupiranga. With technical guidance, an excellent production result is expected in the municipality. “With this delivery of fingerlings, the expectation is that for the next cycle, we will have the production of up to 60 tons of tambaqui in the municipality of Itupiranga; today we serve more than 30 producers,” reiterated fishing engineer Thiago Cruz.
The Fingerling Station is installed at the Agricultural Unit (Uagro) of Sedap in Terra Alta. In addition to transferring fingerlings to fish farmers, the actions to stimulate aquaculture production by the secretary also occur through the distribution of water analysis kits used in aquaculture. The secretary has already delivered more than 50 kits to municipalities in different integration regions of Pará.
