New overpass on BR-316 brings fluidity and quality of life to metropolitan traffic
One day after its inauguration, the new structure in Ananindeua shows practical results in the daily life of those who travel along the highway
Twenty-four hours after the delivery of the BR-316 overpass with Avenida Independência, in Ananindeua, Metropolitan Region of Belém, the positive impacts on urban mobility are already beginning to be felt.
The new structure is making life easier for those who need to travel between municipalities, especially during this Labor Day holiday (1st), when vehicle traffic towards nearby beaches and resorts tends to be more intense.
App driver Denison Correa, who lives in Santa Bárbara and frequently travels between Marituba and Ananindeua, acknowledges the improvement in traffic. "It has made it easier for those going to enjoy the holiday, it's better, there’s no way to have traffic jams, just quality, just joy," he celebrates.
He recalls that traffic jams were constant and caused delays. "I liked it a lot, it improved a lot, before it took a long time for the light to change. It was complicated because the streets are narrow in this area, then it would get congested, now it’s much easier, it has improved a lot in terms of beauty, it looks very nice," he comments.
The Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira, emphasizes that the project is the result of planning aimed at improving the quality of life of the population.
"This achievement is the result of planning, construction, and financial effort, aimed at meeting the needs of the population. The BRT works are also underway. We are already in the final stage, which, along with these overpasses, will bring a significant transformation for the residents of this region," he states.
In addition to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians have also benefited from the delivery of the overpass. Bricklayer Josias da Silva, a resident of Marituba, used to travel daily through the area on his bicycle and approved the changes.
"I found it good for us, after this overpass was delivered, traffic improved 100% around here. It looks nicer, with a new look. My life as a cyclist has improved a lot, now we have a crosswalk and a bike lane, I’m satisfied," celebrates the worker.
