During the extended holiday in honor of Labor Day - May 1st, Utinga State Park "Camillo Vianna", in Belém, will be open to the public during its regular hours, from 6 AM to 5 PM. The Conservation Unit (UC), managed by the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio), in partnership with the Social Organization (OS) Pará 2000, will operate normally on Thursday (1st), Friday (2nd), Saturday (3rd), and Sunday (4th). The schedule is an opportunity for residents and tourists to enjoy one of the main ecological refuges of the capital of Pará.

Public enjoys direct contact with nature

On Saturday (3rd), the Park celebrates its 32nd anniversary with a special program. Various activities will be offered throughout the day, organized by Ideflor-Bio, which will announce the details on the Institute's social media and official profile. The expectation is to attract families, cyclists, runners, and other visitors.

Preservation - Created in 1993, Utinga Park is one of the largest and most important spaces for environmental conservation in urban areas of the Northern Region. With over 1,300 hectares of protected forest, the space is home to emblematic species of Amazonian fauna, such as sloths, monkeys, and various birds, in addition to two important water sources that supply Belém: the Bolonha and Água Preta lakes. The ecological trails, the bike path circuit, and the lookout at Lago da Princesa are among the main attractions.

Park preserves species of Amazonian fauna and flora

“Utinga State Park is an achievement of the population of Belém, a space that combines conservation, leisure, and environmental education. We constantly work to ensure that it is safe, welcoming, and has adequate infrastructure to receive all audiences,” informs Júlio Meyer, manager of the Administrative Region of Belém of Ideflor-Bio, responsible for the UC.

In addition to being a privileged space for contact with nature, Utinga State Park plays a strategic role in the conservation of urban biodiversity and in the quality of life of the population. Over the years, it has consolidated itself as a symbol of belonging, appreciation of the Amazon, and encouragement of healthy and sustainable activities.
