Autism is the theme of a lecture held by CIIR for Banpará employees
The online event provided information about Autism Spectrum Disorder to public servants in the capital and the countryside, as part of another inclusive education initiative
The Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR), in Belém, held an online training on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the headquarters of the Bank of the State of Pará (Banpará). The inclusive education and health action took place last Thursday (24) and was conducted by Samilly Batista, the Assistance Coordinator of the Specialized Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder (Cetea), an institution of the Government of Pará that is part of the Rehabilitation Complex.
The activity is part of the Blue April campaign, aimed at raising awareness about autism. The lecture was broadcast to about 3,000 public servants working in Banpará units across the 144 municipalities in Pará.

Fitting Pieces - According to Roseane Castro, a social worker at the banking institution, the initiative was part of a series of health lectures titled "When we raise awareness, all the pieces fit together." She stated that the topic was chosen because it aligns with the Ministry of Health's calendar and meets the demands of the employees themselves.
"The lecture was planned and thought out in relation to our health action calendar. Since we received significant demand from our collaborators, we could not let the month of autism awareness go unnoticed. We planned a series of lectures on the topic focused on employees, to raise awareness, break stigmas, and disseminate more information about Autism Spectrum Disorder," explained Roseane Castro, who is part of the Health and Safety Management (Gesat) of Banpará.
For Samilly Batista, the moment was a concrete step towards inclusion. She said, "As a professional in the field, I know how essential it is to bring quality information to all corners. This online lecture showed that it is possible to reach places where knowledge often does not arrive. This is also a commitment of Cetea and CIIR: to train multipliers and promote health education. The engagement of the people was the most beautiful thing to see. Questions, comments, thanks. This type of interaction shows that we are on the right track," said the Assistance Coordinator of Cetea, who is a neuropsychopedagogue and a specialist in ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) intervention for people with autism and intellectual disabilities.

Inclusion – The training reached professionals from both the capital and the countryside. Analyst Mayara Pacheco, 35, found the lecture relevant. "It was very enlightening for people who live in this world, like me, who am the mother of an autistic child, and also for those who did not know how to deal with it. The lecture helped reduce prejudice and increase inclusion in customer service and in relationships among colleagues and families," she added.
Banking technician Lusielida Araújo, 41, from Parauapebas (in southeastern Pará), emphasized the importance of the multidisciplinary approach of the content. According to her, "I have an autistic son, and I confess that it is all very new to me. Understanding and learning about autism is essential. The lecture was crucial to empower, provide a safe and welcoming space for employees. Congratulations to CIIR and Cetea for the inclusive initiative."
Structure – The Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation is a reference in Pará for medium and high complexity assistance to People with Disabilities (PwDs) visual, physical, auditory, and intellectual. Users can access CIIR and Cetea services through referrals from health units, welcomed by the Regulation Center of each municipality, which in turn forwards to State Regulation. The request will be analyzed according to the user's profile by the State Regulation System (SER).
