The Civil Police of Pará launched Operation Wall, phase Greenery, aimed at systematically combating organized crime, focusing on criminal factions operating in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB). This phase of the operation took place in the Águas Lindas neighborhood, in the municipality of Ananindeua, identified as a strategic point for the activities of criminal groups.

“The civil police officers working in the municipality of Ananindeua managed to identify some monitoring cameras installed irregularly, used by the criminal group operating in the area. Based on this information, we carried out the removal of these devices and, for that, we requested operational support from Equatorial Energy Concessionaire,” explained Delegate Daniel Castro, director of the Metropolitan Police (DPM).

Tactical approaches and incursions were carried out to dismantle the activities of criminals belonging to organizations operating in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, during which a woman, identified as the treasurer of a faction operating in the municipality of Abaetetuba, was arrested.

“This arrest shows that the work of public security forces occurs in an integrated manner. Generally, the leaders of criminal organizations do not reside in the areas where they operate, and this happens to make it difficult to locate them. Therefore, it is essential that police work is carried out in a coordinated manner,” added the director of the DPM.

Agents from the Urban Sections of Pedreira, Sacramenta, Guamá, Icoaraci, Cremação, Ananindeua, Marituba, and Cidade Nova, from the Aurá and Júlia Seffer Delegacies, and from the Coordination of Operations and Special Resources (Core) also participated in the operation. There was also operational support from agents of the Integrated Electronic Monitoring Center (Cime), a unit linked to the State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap).

“Operation Wall - phase Greenery represents another step in the commitment of the Civil Police of the State of Pará to public order, the safety of the population, and the direct fight against organized crime. Operational integration, combined with police intelligence, is essential for the effectiveness of actions, demonstrating that only with organization, planning, and courage is it possible to weaken and eradicate the influence of criminal factions in our society,” emphasized Delegate-General Raimundo Benassuly.
