The Civil Police, through the Specialized Delegacy in Agrarian Conflicts (Deca) of Altamira, in the Xingu Integration Region, in western Pará, launched the "Pax Agrária" Operation to execute search and seizure warrants, temporary arrest, and flagrant arrest against three individuals, in the municipalities of Anapu and Pacajá, in the same region, on Wednesday (23).

The Operation investigates the homicide of Ronilson de Jesus Santos, which occurred on April 18, in Anapu. According to the investigation, the suspect of the crime intended to take over the entire area of the Pacuru Valley, and for that, he offered money and plots of land to the victim. However, after the refusal, the suspect began to make verbal threats and actions involving armed men, in order to coerce the occupants to abandon the plots.

The Operation began with diligences and searches at the residence of the main suspect of the crime, where only his ex-partner was found. "During the searches at the residence, 9 mm and 36 mm caliber ammunition were located, as well as a 9 mm pistol casing without the weapon. Subsequently, we identified that the characteristics of the weapon and the ammunition used in the crime are compatible with the ammunition found at the residence, which may be an indication of the subject's participation in the offense," informed the head of Deca in Altamira, delegate Michael Andrey.

Seizures - A motorcycle with characteristics similar to the one used at the crime scene was also seized at the residence, as well as cell phones, a laptop, security cameras, and helmets. The ex-partner of the suspect was arrested in flagrant for illegal possession of restricted-use ammunition.

“Another police team went to the suspect's other address. At the location, an armed man fled into a wooded area upon noticing the presence of the patrol car. The other individual was arrested in compliance with an open arrest warrant. In another house located on the property, a man was arrested in flagrant for illegal possession of a firearm, and five homemade shotguns were seized from him,” added the director of the Interior Police, delegate Hennison Jacob.

The three arrested individuals were taken to the police unit for the necessary procedures and are at the disposal of Justice. The seized objects will be submitted to forensic examination and analysis. The investigations continue with the aim of clarifying all information about the case and arresting the main suspect of the crime.

The "Pax Agrária" Operation, which had the support of the personnel from the 22nd Urban Section of Altamira, the Homicide Delegacy (DH) of Altamira, the Investigation Support Nucleus (NAI), and the Coordination of Operations and Special Resources (Core), reinforces the institution's commitment to combating violence and agrarian conflicts in the State.
