Priscila Cobra and Mestre Jaci perform at the Satyro de Melo Fonoteca
The event will be at 3 PM, at the Satyro de Melo Fonoteca, located on the 3rd floor of Centur, and is open to the public.
The Sonoridades Project presents this Thursday (24) the show "Vivências do Carimbó," featuring Priscila Cobra and Mestre Jaci. Open to the public, the event will start at 3 PM, at the Satyro de Melo Fonoteca, on the 3rd floor of Centur, headquarters of the Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP).
Multi-artist from Icoaraci (a district of Belém), Priscila Cobra has been active for nine years in the Amazonian music scene as a vocalist, composer, and carimbó instrumentalist. She released a CD with 13 tracks, titled Carimbó Cobra Venenosa, partially available on Priscila Cobra's YouTube channel, in addition to the vinyl Nova Era - Carimbó Cobra Venenosa.
Valuation - The performance features the partnership of Mestre Jaci, who advocates for traditional carimbó. He began his journey as a vocalist for the group Irmãos Coragem, led by his uncle, Dodó. Through his work, he helped to revive important names in popular culture that were being forgotten, such as Mestre Coutinho, Mestre Saraiva, Mestre Bené, and Mestre Thomaz, bringing their compositions back to the cultural circuit.
The Sonoridades Project invites monthly musicians from Pará or residents of Belém to present an overview of their artistic journey and musical research. Activities include a chat and a pocket show, held at the Fonoteca. The performances are recorded and subsequently made available on social media and in the Fonoteca's archives for research and preservation purposes.
