The delivery of the new Hydroviary Terminal for Cargo and Passengers of Oeiras do Pará (THOP) marks the strengthening of regional port infrastructure. The work, carried out by the State Government through the Port and Waterway Company of the State of Pará (CPH), will enhance the mobility of people and stimulate local commerce.

The Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, accompanied by the local population and other authorities, visited the Terminal's facilities. She emphasized that the equipment should encourage more efficient river mobility in the state.

“This terminal brings benefits to the population that boards and disembarks every day. Strengthening the economy and tourism in this region. We have a goal to improve the lives of our population. You can count on this vice governor to bring more and more benefits to Oeiras do Pará,” she stated.

Hana also highlighted the investments that the state government is making in the municipality. “We are rebuilding the hospital and will complete the daycare of Creche Por Todo o Pará,” she concluded.

With an investment of R$ 3.7 million, the port will have boarding and disembarking areas, ticket sales counters, Military Police, court, baggage check, restrooms, shops, restaurants, decks, and spaces for cultural events.

For a city where the main mode of transport is by rivers, the new terminal will modernize and provide more security for the boarding and disembarking of passengers and agricultural products. It also ensures better accessibility conditions in operations.

Jurema de Matos, department director, states that the new public space will contribute to the movement of people. She also recalls how this service was previously provided. “The terminal is already a blessing because never in the history of Oeiras do Pará could we have dreamed of having a terminal like this. We only had the municipal pier - which is old, but today, with the terminal, we will have a place to wait for the boats to take us to where we live,” she said.

With a more modern and secure public facility, small rural producers gain a new space to market and distribute their products, generating income and strengthening local commerce.

With a smile on her face, resident Jéssica proudly talks about the "gift" that the population received. “We are very happy to receive this quality work. The population is happy to see our city receiving quality services and works, which is why we are very happy today,” she said emotionally.

The terminal structure is made of masonry and steel, with floating and metal ramps, has a thermal-acoustic roof, a modern fire-fighting system, electrical and rainwater systems, and a compact biological sewage treatment station and urbanization.

This is the 31st terminal delivered by the state government. The investment in structural interventions ensures modern equipment for the movement of people, cargo transport, and production distribution, contributing to tourism, commerce, and services.

In Marajó, 11 municipalities have already been benefited by the new terminals: Curralinho, Ponta de Pedras, Santa Cruz do Arari, Cachoeira do Arari, Melgaço, Portel, Muaná, Afuá, Bagre, Anajás, and Soure.
