Training at PSRM Strengthens Integrated Care and Improves Patient Experience
The multiprofessional action highlighted the construction of the patient-centered Therapeutic Plan and the role of communication between teams and families
To strengthen the alignment of professionals involved in the care process, promoting a more assertive and harmonized conduct among team members, the Dr. Roberto Macedo Emergency Room (PSRM), located on Augusto Montenegro Avenue in Belém, held training on "Therapeutic Plan" for the multiprofessional team of the Emergency Room this week, from the 24th to the 27th.
According to infectious disease physician Letícia Figueiredo Gomes, facilitator of the event, along with the nurse coordinator of the Internal Regulation Center, Ruan Felicidade, the training allows each professional, within their expertise, to contribute to a care plan focused not on the disease itself, but on a patient-centered Therapeutic Plan as the target of care.
“The singular Therapeutic Plan, constructed assertively, allows for a better patient experience, as well as strengthens communication between teams, favoring engagement and the shared responsibilities of each professional. Consequently, it improves institutional indicators, thus strengthening the culture of continuous improvement,” assures the physician, who also coordinates the Pediatric Inpatient Unit.
Hospitalized in the state PS for treatment of osteoporosis complications, Mrs. Graça Assunção da Costa, 76 years old, a resident of the Tapanã neighborhood, received a visit from the multiprofessional team responsible for her care this Friday (28), emphasizing the importance of having all professionals providing the necessary care for her clinical case, and highlighted the participation of family members in discussions about her Therapeutic Plan.
"I was very happy with the presence of so many professionals taking care of me. I know they are doing the best job, as each one does their part, based on what they have learned, accurately. My niece participated in all the conversations, and this is very important because family members need to know what is happening to us in the hospital. I am feeling very well because I am being well assisted with everything I need to leave the hospital in good condition," emphasizes the patient.
According to the assistant director of the Emergency Room, nurse Aristônico Rodrigues Neto, when the Care Plan is well elaborated and followed, failures and rework are avoided, in addition to offering more humanized and efficient care, essential for safe, organized, and quality health assistance.
“The Therapeutic Plan is not just a document, but a clear direction of the care that the patient will receive based on their real needs, ensuring that the entire team speaks the same language and works towards the same goal, which is to monitor the patient's evolution, evaluate results, and make safer decisions, achieving the best outcome for the patient's overall health. Therefore, this training is so important, as it strengthens our responsibility for care, improves our communication, and reaffirms our commitment to excellence in health assistance for the population served in our Emergency Room,” reinforces the assistant manager.
The training sessions, which took place during the night and day shifts, allowed teams to rotate during working hours, involved approximately 150 members of the multiprofessional team, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, pharmacists, and social workers.
